Spotting, and pill, should I be worried?
My girlfriend has been on the pill for four months. The other day we had our one and only time without a condom. I pulled out before ejaculation. That was three days ago. Today she told me she had some spotting, which is typical among women in early pregnancy. She has been taking the pill religiously at the same time every day. However she did miss one last week sometime and took two of them the next day as directed by the clinic. She is worried that she may be pregnant and this has got me worried all of a sudden. Do I have anything to worry about? Is spotting some freak occurrence with the pil? Is it too early for a home test to tell?
Any positive feedback is much appreciated!
Thanks.

Re: Spotting, and pill, should I be worried?
The pill regualtes your periods.
When you stop taking the pill, it's signals your body to start menstruating. In her pill cards there'll be a section that arejust sugar pills, they're there to keep women in the habit of taking a pilling every day, they don't actually do anything.
So what's most likely happened is that she's forgotten to take her pill, and her bodys' gone 'oh, it's period time', hence the spotting.
But if you're really concerned go down to the chemist and get her a pregnancy test.

Re: Spotting, and pill, should I be worried?
I used to spot all of the time when I took the pill. I'm sure you guys are fine, so stop worrying. Seriously, if you guys are this scared of pregnancy, maybe sex isn't something you want to be doing?

Re: Spotting, and pill, should I be worried?
My GF has been having the same prob but the spotting seems to have turned into a full on period now - shes going to doctors tomorrow. Its probably because she overlapped, missed her period so we could have more sex. Shes gonnas go on a different pill coz the one she is one apparently is getting taken off market coz its dodgy. :S

Re: Spotting, and pill, should I be worried?
UPDATE:
I think I may be more worried now, today was the second day of the sugar pill. My girlfriend has not received her period yet. She took a test to make sure. It came back negative. Is there still a possibility of her being pregnant, and the test giving back a false negative? She just had spotting the day after we had unprotected sex. So I am not sure what it could be. Any and all positive feedback would be much appreciated. Thanks.

If you're worried enough to post here then take her to a gyno.
