Default Alternatives to evolution

I'm just interested in any alternative theories to evolution other than inteligent design, any help?

There are no credible ones.

There are deviating views on the precise genetic and environmental mechanisms involved in evolution, but the idea of evolution via natural selection etc. is pretty much uniform. Or at least so I gathered from reading one or two Dawkins books, and I'd certainly image there to be differing views on something that we don't really fully understand. But I'm only a physicist.

It depends what you define to be evolution, there is the Darwin theory, whih is generally believed to be the most credible theory. Another form of the evolution theory, which Darwin adapted, is the Lamarck theory, which is very closely related

Intelligent design is broad, and can encompass all sorts of moonbat ideas. Evolution is specific. What possible alternative theory for evolution can you think of that wouldn't fall under intelligent design? Anything scientific will include the mechanism of evolution in some form. A semi alternative that some people trumpet is that evolution happens relatively fast and not quite the slow process others believe (yes, like in x-men).

However, evolution is not contested. It is abundantly reconfirmed. Evolution is the process at which life persists, but as we uncover more fossils/evidence the details of how the process manifested change.

There are debates on what exactly led to what. Like some people believe that there should be two forms of Homo Habilis, but others feel that it is just sexual dimorphism. And there are people that believe that there is enough deviation in the Asian Homo Erectus to merit classifying the Asian as a seperate species Homo Erectus and the African as Homo Ergaster. Then people believe that there is a stepping stone into Cro Magnon (which is the first Anatomically Modern Humans found in Europe) That stepping stone which people believe distinctive enough from Erectus/Ergaster to be classified as Homo Heidelbergensis.

Fun fact, Charles Darwin belonged to a group that was dedicated to the expansion of the human pallette. And as such he ate a lot of the animals he observed while in the Galapagos.

Lamarck's theory is not credible. He effectively believed that, if I were to say, stretch my right arm beyond it's limits, making it's say 25% longer than it is, that I would then be able to pass that trait along to my kid. You see, Giraffes have long necks because earlier forms stretched their necks to reach the leaves. That is his contention, it's close, but not correct.
