How old does one have to be to get a vasectomy in Canada?

I have a friend (we're in Calgary) who got one at 21. I don't know if that's the official age limit, that's just how old he was when he got it.

Why you want one? How old are you? I'd imagine it wouldn't be below 18.

I'm not canadian so I may well be worng on this but most places there isn't an actual minimum age. Its dependant on the circumstances.

For example if you carry the gene for a really bad congenital defect then most doctors will agree to perform one even at fairly young ages.

But as a healthy young male? Most doctors will baulk at doing you under the age of 25 or maybe even 30.

I had to fight to get one even at age 21 having sired 3 children and with a wife who wouldn't survive another pregnancy.

If I want kids, I'll adopt. That would be better for me, and for at least one parent-less kid out there in the world. That's far more responsible than knocking some bitch up and having her pop one out. Failing that, I'd have a sample of my seed frozen so that if on the off chance I did change my mind, I could still have a kid of my own.

That said, not everyone has the urge to spawn, I understand that this is somehow a difficult concept to grasp, however you seriously need to fuck off with that condescending bullshit. It's *incredibly* aggravating when all you hear is "You'll change ur mind, d00d!" every-fucking-time the topic comes up in conversation.

I am 100% certain I will never want children. If I get a vasectomy and years from then I change my mind, I will have the aforementioned options open to me in order to spawn.

jackketch is right, if you're under 30 you're basically fucked. If you don't already have like 12 kids and a secret island inhabited by a legion of 4000 daughters very few doctors will agree to the procedure.

Anyway, to address the original issue I'm form the US of A, but I was assuming Canada's laws were not as annoying. The supreme court in the state I currently reside in recently ruled that procreation was in the best interest of the state (if that gives anyone any ideas).

@ Jack at 17:50:00 2017... IT'S ON, I have NEVER wanted kids i.e. screaming, shitting, vomiting disease incubators. Never mind I could never live with myself if I passed on some sort of chronic illness or any other of the innumerable problems that come bundled with the package of living.
I would not want anyone to live the life I have lived even though living in a "1st world" country, having $ for tech, laptop, and college and not having a drug/booze/hooker habit=supposedly the "good" life.
