| Technophiliacs & Technophiles The Technophiliacs forum is for discussing any and all forms of tech and other types of social backwardness. Including discussions of strange home-brewed hardware technology. Where to get good tools. How to make fiberglass molds. Computer hardware and software technolgy, including operating systems, applications, networking, hardware, CPU's, disk drives, and other geeky things. Viruses and Artificial Life discussions. How to write HTML. End user tools discussions and support issues. Gating the Internet with other nets. If your computer is better than anyone else's computer, you are required to post a message explaining why. You'll probably be wrong, especially if you're a Mac or BeOS user, but post anyway. |

Because the video uses the graphics card differently to the normal desktop. Some apps let you copy a frame from a video, i'm sure there's an option in WMP that lets you take screenshots somehow

It uses overlays. In WMP, go Tools > Options > Performance > Advanced and uncheck "use overlays".

I know some people have luck by disabling their hardware acceleration in Windows.

Well, *by default*, WMP11 lets you do just that.

Re: why can't one "Print Screen" a video?
Well, what i think is Print screen function does not handle fast frame rate even if they are 12~15.If you want to get a snapshot of the movie then use the in program function also by all means other acceleration etc would be true.
Use Power DVD or any other player which supports screen shots.
Yep reconfirmed it ,pause the Video and then tale a screen shot even in full screen it will take it but if you play with it,it wont because of frame rate, the frame rate is high enough so when you take a print screen it can't capture it.
