Re: Is this something I should have done?
You did the right thing. If I knew you in real life, I'd take you out to get some ice cream, and maybe buy a new video game.
Really, your friend was a complete jackass in every situation there. He took advantage of your trust and his girlfriends trust.
It's safe to assume that you considered his girlfriend a "friend". She deserved to be treated fairly as much as your friend did. If he fucked up, then he needs to deal with it. All you did was bring light to the situation... and potentially stopped it from building up over time.
The situation you're in is all about respect... It seems your friend needs to work on his.

Re: Is this something I should have done?
Is this for real? GODDAMN. Don't even try and rationalize any of it, you were pissed off because your buddy ended up with the girl, and then you turned around and called his girlfriend behind his back.
I'm almost in doubt if you're a troll or not, I just can't believe anyone would call his bestfriends girlfriend behind his back while he's in your house doing things where you have absolutely nothing to do with, to snitch on him. I hope he beats your ass into the ground.

His girlfriend would've found out anyway, things like this can't be hidden very well. It sounds like she deserves better.

snitch
–verb (used without object)
1. to turn informer; tattle.
–noun
2. Also called snitcher. an informer.
[Origin: 1775–85; orig. uncert.]
The word snitch isn't from "hood-rats", dumbass.
especially not in my house.
Fair enough, I guess I was a little aggressive, I just woke up.

Re: Is this something I should have done?
Ah, you missed my reference to "hood-rat".
I was merely implying that because of you condoned the cheating on a girlfriend, you had a lack of a "serious relationship"... meaning you're destined to stay with:
"1:A woman of questionable repute. Someone whom you should deny having 'been with'.
2:A skank ass hoe thats fucked most of the men in the hood; A girl that gets around;hoe; A theme park( everyones had a ride up in that bitch)
3:A female that sleeps with everyone in the hood."
-Granted this definition is from Urbandictionary, but legitimet, none the less.
It's possible our definitions were different... but, now the pun should be easily seen.
cronic5... Tell us how everything goes.

I don't condone it, I just stay out of it. Are we talking about the same here? your best friend. Not trying to get all touchy touch here, but there's no way in hell I'd to that him.

That's really touching and cute :).
And I'd do the same too.
You did the right thing. Regardless of anything, the girlfriend had a right to know her boyfriend was messing around with some dirty myspace whore.
Good on you. :)

Re: Is this something I should have done?
Yeah, that was what I wanted to do. I originally was just going to tell him to lay off a little because I am sure his girlfriend wouldn't appreciate it, but I never really did it for some reason. Maybe it was peer pressure from my friends around me telling me to tell his girlfriend, or maybe I was just jealous that he was spending time with this girl when I had known her longer, and she knew me better.
That is the way of the myspace whore.
If you do end up fucking it, please atleast wear a condom.
Just think about how many guys she's met and fucked, in this week alone. And this bitch knowingly fucks guys with girlfriends allready. What a nasty disgusting skank.
Hopefully, she'll get her face smashed in by the girlfriend of the next guy she tries to infect.

Re: Is this something I should have done?
I didn't intend for them to break up. They have gone though some rough times before and have always recovered. I just thought his girlfriend had a right to know what was going on, so I told her. I never expected them to break up.
Actually, I didn't really care if he lives with me or not. I am not going to let my friends cheat on their girlfriend (or I will at least try to talk them out of it), but especially not in my house.
I'm on your side on this one. Your friend sucks.

Re: Is this something I should have done?
I rekon you did the right thing, but for the wrong reasons.
Peer pressure and jealously are never good reasons to dump your mate in the shit with his girl, but she did need to be told.
If nothing else, you have made a new friend with this girl - not too sure about your slutty mate.
Oh, and where does one find these slutty MySpace whores? Do they have a search term for them? Just out of curiosity, of course.........

Re: Is this something I should have done?
My friend (who I will refer to as "Jay" from here on out) has told me that he loves her, and I believed him. I mean, his girlfriend does EVERYTHING for him. He honestly couldn't go better than her, most guys can't. She is super cool, really nice, and will do anything for Jay.
Sounds like she loves him, not the other way around.
I think you did the right thing. It's only fair on the girl and your friend was a complete dick.

I support your idea. Your friend was a dick to cheat, I would have done it myself. If you live in colorado, us I'll buy you a beer...in 2 years legally. Or I'll just get my dad to buy a case.

you did the right thing, and it sounds like he prolly won't be that mad at you if he's busy messing with this new broad.
i'd maybe have his girlfriend come hung out with you & your friends again sometime, not like any of you want her or anything, but she seems like a freind to you and she'd definitely appreciate it. if you'd want o hang out with her that is.

Yeah - I guess that rule about not sexing your mates ex's doesn't really apply here.
And if she's real pissed with him, you may be able to take some wicked cool pics of her for us poor sexstarved Totsean's. You know how much we appreciate some good pics....

You sound like a dumbass, I don't pay attention to your blabbering. Present yourself in a non-retard manner and I may take what you have into consideration. Until then, you're a complete and utter 'tard.

if it was me, I wouldn't have said anything unless I was close to Jay's girlfriend. Otherwise I would've accepted that the myspace slut liked him more and left 'em alone. If he wants to fuck up his relationship, let 'em. It wouldn't have been your fault, whereas in this situation, it kinda is.

Re: Is this something I should have done?
Clearly, cheating is wrong and all that...
However, the way you handled it just sounds a bit pathetic: 'checking up on them' with your giggling little friends then calling his girlfriend - apparently more out of jealousy than genuine concern for her feelings.
Of course, I don't know the details of the situation but it seems by what you've written that you were envious of your friend because he was with a girl you've known for longer (and apparently like in some sense) and, rather vindictively, sought to fuck things up with his girlfriend as a result.

Okay, here you go. Today I will be putting forward 3 main arguments as to why you (cronic5) should have stayed out of the situation altogether and not ratted on your friend. The first being that you (presumably) knew him for longer than you knew his girlfriend, thus having more of a ethical bond to protect him from harm (his girlfriend who he 'loved' finding out about the cheating). Secondly, the reason that you violated the 'ethics' of your longstanding friendship seem to be out of spite, you wanted the girl to like you and when it became obvious that she was more interested in your friend, you acted out of jealousy (evidenced by you interrupting them constantly throughout the night) and not out of some higher moral obligation to 'protect' your friends innocent girlfriend (from a perceived wrong) although you might tell yourself that that is why you acted. Lastly, your parents are right, it was none of your business. Simply by being friends with the people involved, do you feel that gives you free reign to say what is 'right' and 'wrong' in their relationship? Seems to me like you perhaps damaged it more than you did good, since they ended up breaking up. What would have happened if your friend did cheat on her, then later on told his girlfriend himself and they resolved to work through it? (As often happens in relationships) You on the other hand did not give them this chance; you may think that you 'did the right thing', but in reality you fucked over your friends trust in you, made it so that the original relationship has little or no chance of recovering, and acted not in the best interests of the other parties involved, but out of your own selfishness. In conclusion, I submit to you sir that no, no this was not something that you "Should Have Done". Thank you
