Default Empty Apartment

Right now I am 17 and I live by myself in an apartment in the suburbs of Chicago. I don't own the apartment I rent it. My mom moved in with her fiance about 6 month ago and that is why I live alone. Being a high school student that fucking rules. My friends and I live here on the weekends. We do w/e we want its pretty awesome. But pretty soon I will be going off to college. That means that we will no longer keep the apartment. This sucks because when I come home from college on the weekends and during holidays I will have to stay in Chicago away from all of my friends and I would much rather have a place where I can be by myself instead of living with my mom.

I can afford to keep the apartment, but its a waste of money and my mom isn't too happy about the idea either. So unless I can find a way to make the apartment profitable I will most likely have to give it away. I've given it some thought and this is all that I could come up with.

1. Sell advertising space on my balcony - Problem is that it faces the inside of my apartment complex and not many people will see it thus no one will want to buy it.

2. Rent it out to someone else - Problem is I don't want to have anyone else living there and it is against the rules of my apartment comples.

3. Rent out storage room to someone - This could work, but who would want to buy it and I can't imagine it being too profitable.

4. Growing weed inside the apartment - That is too illegal for me to do and I don't want to mess with that shit, but if there is another crop or something that I could grow inside for a profit I'd like to hear about it.

I would appreciate it if you guys could help me out with some good ideas on how I can make an empty apartment profitable to me or at least how I can earn some cash out of it to help cover the cost of keeping it. If its slightly illegal I don't mind, but only if its slightly.

Sex parties. Find some willing girls, preferably still in High School for added thrill. Offer them half the cash or something from the night. Charge your buddies $20.00 each to come watch/fuck some sluts.

I would be their so fast.

As fun as that sounds...no.

A buddy of mine suggested growing San Pedro Cacti. I looked into it and its pretty easy to grow, they don't require much attention and I don't need too much money to get started, but I've just started looking into it so I don't know if it can be profitable. I'd need to find a good place to sell them at. I saw people selling them on ebay and plenty of the auctions had bids on them. I might start a website to sell them, but that could be a lot of effort. Anyone have any experience with this? I'm not set on the idea just yet so if you have any other ones keep them coming.

You could rent it out to your buddies who can't bring a girl home because of parents...

Best solution: Find a tenant (preferable a single person, who would not cause too much commotion) and sub-rent it to him/her. Look for someone who predominantly works on the weekends. This way you could come home and be alone, while they chill during the week. I am sure some diligent searching in the Chicago-land area will yield such an individual. Good Luck.

Let your friends "crash" there while you're away.

What he/she said.

Post the ad on Craiglist with pictures n shit. They have a whole section for it.

You lucky fucking bastard. I used to have a friend with his own apartment in the Chicago burbs. My other friend and I would go over to his place and organize parties n shit and do all sorts of crazy-stupid things with him and our old high school buddies. It's like a bachelor's pad, except most of us were Freshman in college.

I really don't want to rent it out to someone else. Are there any other creative ideas out there?
