i got a canker sore in my mouth this past week and soon after my boyfriend got a cold sore on the corner of his lip and he thought i gave it to him. So i looked it up and a bunch of different sites said that canker sores our not contagious but cold sore are and that they are caused by the herpes virus. well he ended up going down on me while he had this cold sore and now i have what looks exactly like a canker sore or cold sore on the outer lip of my vagina..does that mean i have herpes????

Anyway, Canker sores are NOT cold sores, but since they're kinda similar you should probably just assume that they are. Cold sores are Herpes, which most people have, but it rarely breaks out on your face. However, if you have oral sex with someone who has a breakout of cold sores on their face, it can transfer to your genitals, which IS genital Herpes. This is much more painful, and not pleasant.

So, in conclusion, you were silly and have herpes. There is no cure as of yet. Have a nice day!

ok but i dont understand how does a cold sore mean you have herpes...he didnt kiss anyone hes extremely clean how could he have herpes? and does that mean like i am going to give people herpes when i have sex? I dont get it? isnt herpes like a bunch of sores all over not just one that was obviously directly from the one on his mouth.

Ok, I am going to be completely serious with your for a moment. Only me, and 3 other members of Totse.com are able to tell you if you have real genital herpes. Unfortunately, in order to diagnose this, we will need a picture of your vagina, and breasts (to check to related problems, you wouldn't understand the medical terms).

I don't want you to worry, but when you only have 1 sore, instead of many sores, it can sometimes lead to death within a few weeks, so you shouldn't waste any time.
