Thumbs up Re: supplement question

It's not about the supplements, more about calories when gaining weight, remember to supply your body with a lot of healthy food and you should be fine, Whey is just an easy way to add 20-30g of protein and 200-300 calories.

Consider adding creatine to the mix. The visual results start within a week, you'll gain mostly water at first, but with more water in the muscle cells, the bigger the muscle circumference, which leads to more strenght, both explosive and kinetic.

More strenght means an increased workload, which, if you're eating and resting properly, gives increased muscular hypertrophy.

As for the proteins, 4 grams per pound of bodyweight is a norm for pro bodybuilders. If you're not one of them, half that will do fine. Just remember, you can't digest more than roughly 30 grams of protein per meal, so space it out.

Finally, the supps do just that, supplement. The work is still up to you!

Hope this helps.

Horse meat contains the most creatine. You'd have to eat 2 pounds a day to ingest a significant amount of creatine, though.

If you do decide to try and supplement this amino acid, go for German brands, as they are far superior to, say, Chinese creatine. The prices aren't bad, over here, it's 25 bucks for 500 grams on average.

Drink it straight from the spoon, then chase it down with warm water, to get better apsorption. Don't take it with fruit juice, as this (studies aren't too sure) may result in the production of creatinine, a byproduct of creatine which is essentially waste. Lots of water during the day, no caffeine in any form - it's a diuretic, and you don't want to piss away size and money.

Personally, I notice an increase in overall strenght in three days, at 5 grams a day. After a week, I start to look fuller. But mileage may vary.
