hyped movies that let you down
What were some movies that looked completely awesome, but let you down?
Please do not include the following for we have heard enough about them already:
300
Spider-Man 3
28 days later was mine...everyone said it was awesome, I just didn't like it that much...It was good, but not "fucking great".

Re: hyped movies that let you down
The Mummy returns - For the amount of people waiting in line at the theatre, this movie wasn't that great. It wasn't horrible, and maybe it wasn't even hyped to the extreme, but the day it came out everyone and their mom was buying tickets.
Alien vs Predator - Absolutely everybody was debating who would win. Even Howard Stern was talking about it for days before it came out. The effects weren't bad, but the characters seemed completely juvenile, not a memorable one in the whole cast. And the way one of the Predators just up and helps that woman in the end completely ruined it, I thought predators were supposed to be totally fucking ruthless.

I agree with AvP. However with Predators and humans there can be a connection. The Predator society is honorable. In the original Alien vs Predator comic series a woman and Predator become allies and she is given a Predator scar by burning Alien acid from a cut off finger onto her forhead and she is excepted as one of them basically.

The Phantom Menace.
Sure, we all know that it's rubbish now, but do you remember back then? I mean, my God, they were restarting the Star Wars franchise! Can you imagine! And then the let down, and by god it was a long way down.

The Village: Not so much because the movie itself let me down but the way it was advertised. They made it look like a super-scary horror movie when it was just a drama. Not a bad movie, but the hype screwed it up.
Alien 4: NO.

Re: hyped movies that let you down
Casino Royale.
Was it good? Yeah, but people were talking about it being one of the best Bond movies ever made, and it isn't even top 5 IMO.
