At the end of season 2, i think, the others put him and Walt on a little boat and let them "go home".

He left in a boat with Walt at the end of season 2, we haven't seen him since.

Correct, he was told to sail to a certain co-ordinate and it would take him home, there are rumours that he does return.

Michael and Walt were allowed to escape on that little fishing boat after Michael betrayed everyone. However, that SAME FISHING BOAT was later seen taking the others from the other island back to the main island.
Nobody has seemed to notice that..
