My prom is this coming saturday. Just got a call from my girl, and she's like "I'm shopping right now, should I buy a garter?". I was just like...what? No clue what she's talking about. Not wanting to look like a fool, I just said sure.

So now we're doing the garter thing. Unfortunately, I don't know at all what I'm supposed to do with this thing, because even though my school is pretty big we have no crazy prom traditions like this. So tell me totse, what exactly is this garter for?
