Default I Hate Babies.

Why is it when someone has a baby, they always ask you to hold it? I don't want to hold your fucking baby. It's bald, creepy, and it pukes all over itself all the time. It has a bag of shit around its waist. Seriously, get the fucking thing out of my face. I don't want to see it, and I definately don't want to hold it.

I'm an uncle. That's right, my brother managed to knock some bitch up. So far everyone's been real supportive: "Congratulations, shithead." The baby is really interesting and its daily routine consists mainly of the following:

Cry
Vomit
Scream
Sleep
Repeat

I used to enjoy hanging out with my brother, now all he can do is talk about the fucking baby. Newsflash: I don't care. Babies are by far the most boring things on the face of the earth. They're disgusting, and somehow they always manage to show up and vomit all over themselves when you're eating. I was eating breakfast and the fucking baby shit its pants! They changed it right then and there!

Now, I'm gonna be cool to the baby. I'm moving into their house in CO in a couple years. I plan on being "the cool uncle" and reading to her. I read most of "Timequake" to her, but I don't think she got it. Fuckin' baby...

I hate babies too. Every place I've worked, when some twat brought her baby in and it started crying, I wanted to stomp on it. At one of those jobs I used large knives. The Old Testament has nothing on that sort of temptation. Babies are so much worse at work.

But that's not NEARLY as bad as when they're on an airplane. Christ, check them with your luggage. And then when they're 2 or 3 years old they sit there and fucking kick the back of your seat. I always want to fully recline my seat to the point of squashing the little shits and squeezing their brains out of their eyes onto their stupid mothers who think they're fostering creativity by raising assholes with ADD.

So, I agree.

I despise babies also.

I think I'd actually be a serious threat to a baby if I had my own/had to care for another, due to the fact I have a very low tolerance for screaming and crying and general brattish behaiviour in kids. It would get kicked against a wall.

When I see a kid with a mother in the street and the fucking thing is screaming it's head off, the cunt of a mother completely ignores it. That really really pisses me off. The fucking idiot shouldnt have a kid if she cant care for it, and that kid is going to grow up as a fuck up. When I walk past the job centre I see it's full of fat teenage girls with 3-4 kids of their own and it's frightening. When someone devotes their entire life to shitting out babies and seeing how much money they can screw the benefit system out of, it makes me psychotic.

Anyone ever seen that film where suddenly humans cant have kids?
I think if that was a temporary situation, say a decade or so before humans could breed again, it would solve alot of problems.

Especially benefit leaches and the sort of shithead parents who bring their little bastards up to think that it's find to smash windows and beat people up for looking different.

Fuck them all, then sell them to a dog food factory.

I can't wait to my kid pops out, most of the time. I'm not overly fussed on other people's babies though.

Bek, you're being judgemental. Some children scream constantly, the mothers tearing their hair out trying to cope, literally on the brink of depression. How does ignoring a crying child while pushing it down the street mean it's going to be a fuck-up? Is the mother supposed to stand on the footpath and change the kids nappy or whip out her tit for a feeding? There's no mute button, ya know.

This is true. When my daughter was a baby she HATED being in her stroller or in her carseat or pretty much any situation where she wasn't being held. Unfortunately she was very big as a baby and I was suffering from severe anemia, so there were times when I just COULDN'T carry her anymore and I would be walking down the street trying to get somewhere and she would be screaming. It hurt me to hear her unhappy, but there was nothing I could do! She would be trying to turn herself around, waving her arms about and screaming, "mama, MAMA" as I hurridly tried to get where I was going so I could pick her up again.

I'm such a pushover, though...I used to cry at the doctors office when she was getting her shots. They all thought I was a psycho, I'm sure.

whip out her tit for a feeding?

If that'll shut the punk up, go for it. The nipple's obviously covered so it fits perfectly with any decency crap as far as I'm concerned. As long as I don't have to listen to the baby bitching when you have the power to stop it. If nothing else, take a fucking bottle or a pacifier with you, those often shut him up

God I hate it when parents take their kid to places where he shouldn't be. I mean come on, if your baby's stomach is sore and he cries day and night, I don't want you to bring the fucking menace to a supermarket and you especially don't have any right to bitch back when I inform you about the finer points of post-natal abortion

QMFMT!

I also can't stand most babies, but especially THE PARENTS! I always had a hard edged attitude towards kids, and was certain when I had babies myself I would soften to everyone else's issues in regard to them. COMPLETELY OPPOSITE however. Now that I've dealt with all the bullshit myself, I now realize probably 90% of the people out there CAN NOT parent and don't give a damn about the rest of society.

So what should someone do if their kid is wailing in public? Personally I go for the 30 second to minute rule. If a pacifier/bottle/cuddling isn't going to calm your brat down within that time period, then it is NOT society's obligation to have to deal with your malcontent brat and all the nonsense it is creating out in public. Take it to the restroom, go outside, go back to your car....do ANYTHING as to remove your annoying kid away from the masses. I've abandoned shopping carts full of food to calm my infant, walked out of lines I waited in for 10 minutes to remove a tantrum filled 2 year old, and cut a few playground visits short because of a misbehaving 3 year old.

GODDAMMIT people, the rest of the world doesn't find your brat cute, cuddly, or anything else positive. It is just another human breathing our air, and they are just as much as a hindrance as anyone else that is disturbing the peace.

I could go on and on with this post, but really and truly it is profoundly pathetic. So many parents suck, their kids are growing up to be unruly fuck ups, and it is ALL THE PARENTS FAULT! I'm tellin ya, there should be some kind of test laid out in order for people to be able to squeeze out kids. If they fail, then MANDATORY ABORTION. At the very least, unruly kids should be allowed to disciplined by mob rule if their own parents can't get a grip and handle on the situation. Stop the excuses and just KEEP YOUR KID IN LINE!

Basically, if a kid is crying, it needs or wants something.
It's either dirty, uncomfortable, tired, sleepy, hungry,or wants a hug.
I cant fucking stand women who have kids and entirely ignore their children when they clearly need something.
I dont like children, but when I see a baby that's clearly in distress for some obvious reason, and the mother ignores it to carry on nattering with her friend about how she doesent get enough money from the state and her house isnt free enough, I just want to pick the poor little fucker up and run away to child services with it.

And a toddler having a temper tantrum, if you cant discipline it, or if you're unwilling to break out the big cash for that chocolate bar, and you'd rather it screams the place down for another hour rather than have it, you should be shot.

If you are too stupid to understand how unpleasant for everyone it is to listen to your colic ridden baby in a supermarket when you had an option to leave one parent home to take care of it, you shouldn't breed

Oh yeah, it's especially good when a baby starts bawwwing and the mommy is too busy checking which soup cans are on sale to care about it. And when you note that her kid has been crying for some time now and how she might want to check if she can do something about it, you get told "mind your own business." My own business?! It became my business when you let your fucking brat cry for 5 minutes because you're too tired to take care of it bitch. God I've never wanted to ram a can of pea soup in someone's eye so bad. Why isn't breeding as regulated as adoption, maybe these fuck ups wouldn't have kids. Definition of greater good

You're making huge assumptions. Perhaps the other parent is working? Maybe they can't afford a baby sitter? What should they do, leave it alone by itself? It's just a little crying for a few minutes of your life. Deal with it. I'm sure you cried alot as a little kid, and I'm sure you pissed alot of people off.

I see your point if it's a young child, say 3 up, where you can discipline them to a certain extent, but dude...IT'S A BABY. There are very few ways to stop a baby crying alot of the time. Sure, sometimes it's something simple like them being hungry or them needing their diapers change d(and of course you mind if she whips out a tit or changes its dirty nappies right there on the shopping trolley, do you?) but alot of the time parents have no fucking idea why the thing is crying. It can often be teething, something they can do very little about.

Just deal with it man. Like I said it's a completely different argument when we talk about children, who have some idea and control over their actions, then I agree with you, the parent should really be listening, but give the people with a baby a break.

actually DDT for favourite:P

And yes, sometimes babies do just scream the place down no matter what their parents do. But I always then took the child out of earshot of others if possible.

WHich funnily enough tended to calm the child down again.

Hell, most days just being in a supermarket makes me want to scream or go postal too. Take the kid outside, have a fag (the child can have one too) and wait til its calmed down).

If it's too much to ask to offer the thing a pacifier or to spend 30 seconds trying to rock it in your lap, you shouldn't have kids, period. You're a negligent piece of shit who dares to get offended when someone comes to check if you're deaf or just sadistic by letting your kid cry and not react at all. The market isn't exactly a bustling hub of noise and activity so I'd have fucking known if that kid had cried not long before too. Sick babies cry all the time and that wasn't one, the mother just needed to be reamed by a broken bottle for not caring

Is it so fucking hard to understand? I have the patience of a fucking mountain if you can't help it, it's ineptitude and not caring about anyone else that annoys me. Yeah I'm not gonna like it when your kid barfs on my shirt on the register line but I'm not gonna throw a tantrum over something you have no way to control. At least try your best, those soup cans can wait a few seconds

Pilsu, thanks for saving me all the text.....all GREAT POINTS!

Rabbitweed, its called PUBLIC places for a reason. Because its a gathering of the populace, whereas now it isn't just only about your needs or predicament. There is a matter of decorum and expectations of things people do to conduct themselves in a manner so as not to step on everyone else's toes. A wailing child is a form of noise pollution, and it IS the obligation of the parent to "toe the line" so to speak and not impede on everyone else's day. Whether its 20 people in a grocery store, 50 in a movie theater, or 300 at a wedding reception.....those people are now being disturbed, why should their experience be lessenned, inhibited, or negated because of the incompetence of ONE person (the parent, not the baby)?????

The good of the many, outweigh the needs of the few....its THAT SIMPLE!

Default Re: I Hate Babies.

I can handle screaming babies, most of the time. Generally if they start screaming I just leave. But there are 2 places where babies should not be allowed.

1. Planes. Do you really need to take your little bastard screaming brat on an 8 hour plane ride for 2 weeks in a resort, where people are VACATIONING? WE DON'T WANT SCREAMING CHILDREN ON THE BEACH, K? GO HOME. Really, when you're paying 1000 bucks for a plane ticket, and another fuckknowshowmuch to RELAX, you expect to get your money's worth. And the parents of these kids? It's not a vacation when you have to watch the kid the ENTIRE TIME.

With the exception of this one baby on the plane to Europe last year, who was super chill and just sat there making occasional happy noises, I greatly disapprove of children on planes/tropical vacations.

2. Fancy restaurants. People aren't paying for a nice dinner to listen to your dipshit kid scream and cry and bang silverware. If you know your kid has shit behaviour, go to McDonalds. Hell, go to any FAMILY restaurant. Don't go to a place where people expect to have a nice, quiet dinner. We want to stab you and your screaming kid with forks.

That being said, I'm never having kids. Although if I did, they would damn well be the best behaved kids you've ever seen.

Sometimes you just have to take your baby on a plane. Like when we moved from California to Florida I had to take my daughter, who was then 9 months old on a plane and let me tell you it was one of the worst experiences of my LIFE. She screamed the whole time...I mean literally screamed for over 6 hours and my daughter was the loudest baby I have ever heard. It was so horrible, I mean I sang to her, I walked with her I tried to nurse her all to no avail. I think her ears hurt from the change in pressure or something.

The worst part, though was that people on the plane were so mean and rude to me! Here I was doing the best I could and people actually kept coming over and demanding that I "shut that kid up" And suggesting that maybe I shouldn't take my baby on the plane if I couldn't take care of her. In fact, people became so abusive towards me that the stewardesses let me sit in the back area with them.

Exactly. Surely the stress a mother is going through when her screaming child is driving her and everyone else crazy, but nothing she does will work, is more than what some asshole who doesn't like crying babies has to bear.

Bek, obviously my girlfriend and I didn't plan our child, but it will be brought up properly. That doesn't mean I can keep it out of earshot of the general public any time it cries.

In fact, people became so abusive towards me that the stewardesses let me sit in the back area with them.

Oh man, I couldn't hear shit for 2 days after taking a plane and it hurt like a bitch, I imagine a baby didn't fare too well either, haha. But yeah, you can't help it but you should understand how they feel. Usually the mother hauling the kid around isn't doing it out of necessity so you can't blame them for assuming you were just inconsiderate

Wonder if you can gag a kid in a way that doesn't make the stupid brat suffocate. I mean, child abuse vs abusing 30 other people, I'd definitely "abuse" the child by shutting him up if it doesn't kill him

Makes you wonder why airlines don't sell strong foam earplugs. Had to buy mine in a store

"People were so mean and rude to me"......BOO FUCKIN HOO! So for 6 hours you had to get attitude and crude remarks from strangers? Big fuckin deal! You brought it upon yourself, and the only reason they did this was out of retaliation to your wailing kid. Now if they physcially assaulted you or your kid, I would say they were wrong or out of line. But from where I'm sitting it was tit for tat, they just gave back an equal amount of stress that YOU dealt them.

The truth is you had a myriad of options that you COULD have done to prevent everyone's anguish. You ever hear of a train, with a separate compartment? Or automobile? Or was this some kind of hyper important move that just HAD to take place instantaneously. And since you were moving such a distance, should we all assume that your furniture and other items were flown as well? Or were they transported by truck, indicating there WAS a window of time you had to get to your new house. Sorry, but I ain't buying it. You choose travelling by plane for YOUR convenience and didn't think this whole thing through.

Once you purchased the tickets for the plane ride you still hade several other countermeasures in place. How about changing you kids nap schedule for a few days before, readying them for having the nap during the bulk of the flight? Also, you could have given your kid infant tylenol or other meds to induce sleep. A lot of parents slip their infants and toddlers some kind of concoction to settle them down for such a long trip. Hey, WHAT AN IDEA! You didn't have any infant medicine with you to help alleviate the pain for their ear problems? Again, not thinking it through. Before the stewardesses took you back into their little cabin, didn't you try thinking of camping out in one of the bathrooms for an hour or two? How about a pillow or blanket to at least muffle the cries? I'm not talking about suffocating the kid, but you can create a makeshift "coccoon" of sorts keeping at least SOME of the sound to a minimum.

Bascially you got onto an aircraft nonchalantly without a clue or care in the world, and because YOU ruined just about everyone else's journey for that time period....now you come here and cry about the OTHER passengers behavior. Are you fucking kidding me??????

The good of the many outweigh the needs of the few...ITS THAT SIMPLE!

I could at least see where you were coming from until now, but this is just ridiculous. There was absolutely nothing she could do on the plane, she did everything possible to try to quiet her baby, it's not like she was making it scream out of spite to piss off the passengers. And if the baby's in proper pain as it sounds like it was, you're not going to send it to sleep or silence it by slipping it some infant painkiller unless you ramp the dose up way past the recommended. And wrapping a baby's head up in a blanket for six hours (seriously, what the fuck, you can't think that's any kind of viable option) is just going to make it cry more. She had a nine-month old baby, a train journey would be a lot more stressful and take a lot more time, and you're not going to get an empty carriage on a journey that long anyway, people would still end up pissed off. A car or truck journey would just be stupid, it would take a couple of days to cover the distance travelled by the plane in 6 hours and that's a hell of a hard journey for a new mother and a young baby.

So it was annoying to other people. That's no reason to bitch at her, there wasn't anything she could do and it's not going to do anything except upset her when she was already stressed out. An eye for an eye, great. That works so well.

People who take kids on long flights without a good reason, yeah, that's annoying as hell and inconsiderate. But it doesn't exactly sound like she had much of a choice. She was moving house. It sounds like you're just bitching for the sake of it, because anything involving a baby on a flight is automatically an inconsiderate mother who doesn't give a damn about anybody else. No exceptions, right?

At this thread in general... they're babies. How can people be so vicious about them?

Actually I DID have to move fast...The military informed my husband he was leaving 6 DAYS before he had to be at his new station, so yeah flying was my only option. And I'm sorry but there is no way I would've wrapped my screaming baby up in pillows and "camped out" in an airplane bathroom just to make other people a little more comfortable. Anyone who would expect someone to do that is a serious asshole. And my daughter has an allergy to ibuprofin, which is considered the only safe painkiller for infants under 18 pounds, so I had to get prescription medication for her whenever she had pain. There was no way I could've known that flying would have such an effect on her and anyway, I don't even know for sure that ear pain was her problem. I am just postulating that her ears hurt, but it could've been a stomachache a headache or any other little ache or pain.

God, I hate them also. They're always shitting and pissing and throwing up all over themselves and screaming. I also find them very disturbing, I'm not sure why, but they just freak me out. That scene in Trainspotting where the baby is crawling on the ceiling really scared the shit out of me.

Kids can be cool when they get older (as long as they're not my kids) but babies just suck, period.

You loose 18 years of your life, so much money and time. All they do is shit, cry, and eat your money away. They are not in anyway cute, theyre fucking disgusting gurgling piles of fucking smelly shit.

I hate them, I hate women that go "zomg awwwwwww CUUUTE!!!" WTF? That is NOT cute. Then you call it cute when it vomits on you? I swear if one of those shitdemons ever fucking vomits or shits on me, Ill fucking smack the hell out of it.

Rabitweed, I'm not going to get into a flame war with you...but it is profoundly comical that the likes of you would describe my posts as "whining". The majority of your posts are just silly sophomoric attempts at being witty, when clearly any adult can see you have a lot of life to live before you have even a semblance of a clue about real world issues. So until you do grow up, I'll merely scoff at your amazingly naive mindset and thank you for the lulz.

Xiao Mei, I also don't want to start trading barbs with you because honestly you are one of my favorite posters here, who usually has a great handle on things. Notice I didn't start name calling you, or even suggest you are a bad mother (truth be told from your other past posts I think you are a great parent)....instead just disagreed with this one particular act of parenting on your part. You entered a thread titled "I hate babies", witnessed a whole litany of posts by folks ragging on inconsiderate parents, posted your own selfish behavior and expected sympathy in this thread. Sorry, but if I agree with 999 out of 1000 of your other previous posts, that still doesn't make you crying any more legitimate or understood based on your selfish actions on the plane.

Who knows, maybe I was wrong in my original assessment of your intellect.....because some of the words above make you look like your brain took a powder on this whole topic. The first aspect of this I won't even go into much detail, because its probably for another thread for another day....but the whole "my hubby was ordered by the military" is yet ANOTHER choice you made in regard to your life. I personally believe men/women that have families have no business being in the armed forces, but just because you and him CHOOSE to be pawns to the government doesn't give you some free license to now infringe on everyone else's space and comfort level.

And cmon, you have never heard of people's "ears popping" or other sinus maladies when riding in an aircraft? I guess this was the first airplane ride for hubby in his military career? You didn't have a pediatrician to consult asking for advice/tips for such a journey? No friends or family members? I find it amazing that with the intellect you portray in all your other posts, that your kid being uncomfortable is such a "mystery" to you and came as a surprise. ESPECIALLY at 9 months old, right in the throngs of the very difficult teething time.

In case you haven't heard there are many other meds besides ibuprofen that can be used as a painkiller....christ you could've spent $6 on one of those mini bottles of Southern Comfort on the plane and rubbed a touch on your babies gums. Or were you so stressed from the "abuse" the passengers were heaping upon you, that thought never crossed your mind?

I never suggested putting a pillow over the kids mouth, but try and make a stifling area to at least muffle your kids cries. Would it have been SOOOOOO difficult to grab the window seat, put a blanket over yours and/or the kids head and add a pillow for extra noise absorption? Again, you've got your own little private "space" within your seat after creating a small cocoon trying to keep the noise inside YOUR vicinity by at least putting SOME effort into minimizing the wails. I've done this in a motel room with paper thin walls after management called us about noise complaints......are you telling me it is impossible for you to come up with such a solution?

But the telling words in this post is where you go on to say...."there is no way I would have camped out in a bathroom to make everyone else more comfortable". BINGO! There we go folks!!! After all the emotions and other nonsense she is trying to add to this topic, we get to the root of her entire stance. You have just proven you are just like every other parent we have described in this thread that has complete INCONSIDERATION for everyone else and the overall good of the populace. Fuck the DOZENS upon DOZENS of other folks that are having their trip ruined by your wailing baby. When it comes down to it, its all about you and your kid....and to hell with how many toes you are stepping on because of YOUR BAD DECISIONS and lack of consideration for everyone else.

Yup, you are the prime example at why this thread was originated in the first place .....not to mention how many separate posters have echoed more or less the same attitude at inconsiderate parents such as yourself. And we all wonder why our entire society has such a "me, me, me" attitude with no regard to our fellow citizens. I just wonder the end result (meaning the adult your kids will grow up to be) of your's and other like minded parents that believe YOUR needs based on YOUR choices should override everyone else in society.

1. My daughter didn't get her first tooth until she was 11 months old, so at 9 months she was not teething.

2. I had flown with my daughter before with no problems back when she was 2 months old, so I didn't think she would have a problem at 9 months old.

3. This may come as a surprise to you (DaGuru) but I don't just indiscriminantly give drugs to my baby who I KNOW has numerous allergies to medications. Her doctor had told me numerous times to be very careful what I gave her and to only do it under his supervision. I'm sorry that it was so "inconsiderate" of me to not want to drug her and risk a severe allergic reaction, but I guess I'm just that much of an asshole.

4. Having a pillow or blanket over your head is very uncomfortable and No I wasn't willing to make my baby even MORE miserable than she already was for the sake of slightly muffling her screams.

5. Anyone who would expect a woman to bring her baby into a nasty bathroom just so they don't have to listen to a little NOISE is a person who should just be put down for the sake of all humanity.

Don't ya just love how threads evolve? First, it was 6 hours of nonstop crying....now its just a "little noise". ROFLMFAO!

Xaio, you've convinced me! Your well thought out stance and demeanor in regard to all of this has made me decide to change my parenting style and overall way I conduct myself in public or just generally when other people are around. So after I list a few of my newly discovered changes, I wonder if you want me moving next door any time soon.......

If its a beautiful summer day and your kids are outside playing, who knows I just may decide to go wash my car and crank up my boombox with some gangsta rap with language you probably wouldn't want them to hear. Fuck them though, cuz after all......I WANT TO!

Maybe if you are behind me in your car on a city street I may just decide I'm in the mood to watch a porno in MY vehicle and pop in the latest Peter North DVD. You afraid your tykes might get an eyeful? Too bad, after all this is MY MOOD and damn if I care if anyone else has issues with it.

Gonna take your kids to Chuck E. Cheese, I'll probably be there too. I'm a smoker and I USED to exit the building and walk a hundred or so feet from the entrance so other patrons and especially their kids didn't have to be exposed to my smoke. Now that I've seen the light I'll just perch my ass right by the door and not give a shit who is walking into my cloud of toxins. Hey its EASIER for me, right?

You planning any nice BBQ's spending much time and money into the day, inviting dozens of friends and family over? Ya know what? It just so happens that is the same day that it is CONVENIENT for me to do all that yard work I've been meaning to catch up on. All that noise from the mower and weed whacker ruining your fun? Too bad, because after all this is just about ME, ME, ME. Maybe I'll power wash my siding when all those jobs are done too. I mean really.....its just a "little noise", right?????

Thanks for giving me this great epiphany Xaio, I'm sure I'll live a much more fruitful life and be an incredibly more "likable" person in the process after learning such great life lessons from you. You truly are a role model for everyone! : )

Well, that's lovely, but nowhere did I see Xiao say that she chose for her baby to cry, which kind of ruins that sarcastic diatribe.

She didn't want to do this, it wasn't her fault. Can you not see that? She had to move quickly (well, I guess it's her fault, she should stopped her husband going into the military because of the possibility she would have had to take her unconceived child on an aeroplane and annoy people) and she did what she could to try to quiet the kid. There are god-knows-how-many examples of women with babies being inconsiderate bitches that deserve a slap or five for dragging their screaming spawn to nice restaurants or to the cinema when they don't need to, but you're attacking Xiao even though she's not one of them (in this example, anyway :p). Let it drop.

Mr. Happy, I'd like to let it drop....as I'll state again that I'm NOT here to get into a flame war. I do find it interesting that you are describing my posts as "attacking" Xiao, when from where I'm sitting its the other way around. Can you find even one instance where I name called her (retarded) or wished death upon her (you should be put down) like she has said to me? Hell, I've even complimented her a couple of times saying I admired her posts, thought she was a good parent, and she has a lot to add to these forums. Sure I HAVE questioned her sincerity and intellect in regard to THIS topic, but only after she wanted to start throwing mud as if she was still on the playground.

I don't mind differing opinions and civil debate, as a matter of fact I greatly encourage it. Evidence to that fact is how you called one of my posts "ridiculous" and then when on to describe reasons why you think so. I didn't even bother to respond to that post because quite evidently I am not going to change your mind or your perceptions in the comparisions that I originally put up. Fair enough, we don't agree and have differing opinions....I am not walking away with some kind of grudge thinking "Fuck Mr. Happy, he is a douche because of his viewpoints and now its ON". But also notice you still maintained adult discourse and didn't start slinging insults my way because my beliefs are a bit off from yours. Just a couple of days ago I questioned Jackketch on something he posted that to me was completely off the wall, yet that hasn't disintegrated into "you idiot, you suck, just die". Again its called mature and adult posting.........2 people disagreeing and not having to "win" an argument.

Just like your post above, there are many points I don't agree with and realize its pointless to argue the subtle nuances of this topic. You and I could argue for days about now "necessary" it really was for her to board that aircraft. But what's the point? It's not like a thread titled "I hate babies" has any legitimate sincere hope to accomplish anything positive to anyone, other than just venting and ranting people's frustrations. But then along comes Xaio looking for sympathy describing her side of an event, where she already read the very intense opposing view that had such disdain for the other parties. She is making excuse after excuse at why HER situation is so different, instead of just taking her medicine and moving on to a new thread and forgetting about it.

It would be like Nancy Reagan entering a BLTC thread after witnessing bong making tips, and continue on her tirade about the dangers of drugs after people already told her she was wrong. Sure, any namecalling that Nancy may ensue towards the other parties may in fact make HER feel better, but it isn't winning anyone over to her side of thinking and it especially doesn't make her stance now the "right" one.

The truth is, its all text on a screen and if she is going to get all up in arms about it....that is something I can not help. But to enter a thread KNOWING that she is in the vast minority after some very vicious comments were being bantered about and expect to by sympathised is pretty silly. And to then start slinging 2nd grade insults because someone called her out on being silly for expecting to receive that sympathy is just blatantly immature. Actually, in my eyes that is what I would best describe as being "ridiculous".

All of these people were coming on here and acting like parents CHOOSE for their baby to scream or that if a baby IS screaming that it must be negligence on the parents part causing it. A lot of people were also saying that it's inconsiderate to have a crying baby out in public and I wanted to show that a lot of times it's not the parents fault or intention for it to happen.

DaGuru if you really feel that those examples you provided were similar in any way to my experience...Well I guess there's really nothing I can say to that. And I wasn't looking for sympathy, I was just trying to provide another perspective. You can say all you want that I had a choice in flying on that plane, but I really didn't. We had already moved out of our house, we had no car at that time and as I stated earlier my husband had 6 days to get to his new duty station. A train was out of the question, because it would take too long and be way too expensive. A greyhound was also out of the question because it would have taken us over a week to reach our destination.

I suppose if I had been willing to be homeless in California and never see my husband again, in that case I guess I did have a choice after all. I guess I really am just another selfish asshole.Roll Eyes (Sarcastic)

a little more comfortable

6 fucking hours of nonstop screaming

Guess we have.. differing.. definitions of 'little'

Oh and those toilets are anything but filthy, the handle is dirtier than the seat itself unless someone took a few too many scotches and decided the ceiling was too dry

I don't like babies either. I'm not even sure if I will like my own babies. The thought of being pregnant horrifies me. Just imagine a gross little fetus swimming around in your body, leeching off your resources...*shudder*

I think it's retarded to judge people because their babies are crying though. Like Docta said, there's no mute button.

I dislike children in general. Not individual kids, but the idea of them. You're basically paying to clean, feed, house, and generally take care of a hyperactive retard. Usually with little in the way of thanks. I'm sure my attitude will change when I have kids of my own though.

On a side note, a couple of friends of mine (female) once called me weird for not liking the smell of babies. Yup.

Ya, babies suck. They are not cute in anyway, and just make noise/shit. Basically what everyone else said about babies sucking is true.

However some of you are pussies, "omgz i had to listen to a NOISE. a mother fucking NOISE!!! For a few hours!! While on a plane!! Can you believe that!! Jesus fuck, I would think any good parent would kill their kid before I was very slightly inconvenienced for a few hours."

Seriously, what are you supposed to do in that situation? Your on a plane, so you can't leave, and the baby wont shut up. Put your music on max, have an extra drink and try to relax. That's all you can do. Unless the mother is visibly poking the baby in the eye, its not really her fault. I have mild anger problems and this stuff doesn't bother me. You should see a shrink if a baby crying for a little while can make you angry enough to try to "cocoon" it in pillows, or shoot it full of smack. Just put up with the noise for a little bit you fucking pussy.

What will get me very angry very quickly is when a baby is crying and the mother refuses to deal with it appropriately. Such as in a church, movie theater, or any other event where the mother could leave. If your in a movie with a crying baby, and the mom wont leave, kick her in the face for all I care. That is her fault, and she should deal with whatever unstable maniacs in the movie do to her. However in a plane there is no option, so fucking chill out, because no one is to blame.

How dare they not like the "slight inconvenience" of having a brat crying non-stop for hours in an enclosed space during a trip which they paid for, they should see a therapist!

No, they should see a therapist if that inconvenience angers them to the point where they will justify smothering the baby with pillows, or filling it with drugs it may be allergic to. True, it is more than a slight inconvenience but its not really that bad. They give you free head phones, so jack the volume. And once again this brings me to the main point, NO ONE CAN DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT. So you may as well just forget about it or get used to it. If you want to sit there enraged the entire time, thinking about how you want to curbstomp a baby, then of course your going to have a terrible trip.

Monks can meditate to tune out the pain of being burned alive. If you try reeeeeeealllly hard you might be able to numb the noise a bit, and maybe resist the urge to smother a baby.

I don't mind babies - they express themselves in the only way possible which is by crying if they need something or making that weird gurgling noise if they are happy (which sounds kind of cool). I don't blame them for screaming on planes because air pressure can be a horrible thing on the ears. I don't even mind it when little baby Johnny needs a feed in the middle of the public library because he needs to eat and can only communicate this in one way.

What I can't stand are toddlers. Not even that, just the little misbehaved cunts. The ones that scream and scream and shout and hit their parents - though this is all a product of their upbringing. Recently I was on a 14 hour train journey from Aswan to Cairo in Egypt. There happened to be a family sitting behind us - two parents and a toddler (sitting in two seats - they didn't think to get the child a seat so it could have a sleep). The little bastard misbehaved the whole way - kicking my chair, screaming and generally making a shit out of itself. The parents found this funny... FUNNY. In the end I figured out a really badly worded version of "shut your kid up" in Arabic and they seemed to finally realise that there were other people on this train other than themselves! By this time the kid was past the point of consolation and ran up and down the train screaming for the last 4 hours of the trip. Annoyance.
What this does show though is that its not necessarily the toddler I hate but the parents. I think that people need to bear this in mind - the child is only acting as it has been brought up and it is the parents that need to be chastised, not the kid.

But then I seem to attract bastard kids on public transport - on both my flights I had a toddler kicking the back of my chair even when I asked the parents to control it.

Maybe I am just bitter, but they were right fuckers.

Every place I've worked, when some twat brought her baby in and it started crying, I wanted to stomp on it.

So, I agree.

AMEN! I walk through the mall, kids cry, and I have to restrain from punting them across the foodcourt.

or filling it with drugs it may be allergic to

Most babies aren't allergic to drugs and well, said drugs would also make the baby feel better. Such a preposterous suggestion huh? And no one's smothering anything, idea was to dampen the noise. Sure it sounds a lot better when you just pick the word pillow and replace sound dampening with murder but it's still silly

How dare they try to think of ways to lessen the ear rape they receive during a trip they paid money for, bastards

By this time the kid was past the point of consolation and ran up and down the train screaming for the last 4 hours of the trip

I like it when they do that, 'accidentally' put your foot on the aisle when they're running past you. It's much more tolerable to hear them bitch about their broken teeth than for bitching for no reason

Hmm, on a flight...a baby crying - or myself blasting Marilyn Manson or hardcore porn out of my laptop. They are both noise, so babies - kindly fuck off, and I'll use headphones.
