Default Is there anyone else out there, like me?

Morning:
Effexor- 3 pills for depression
.25 mg of risperidone/risperidal for anxiety
Adderall --10mg, for school

night:
trazodone- 600mg-- for depression/insomnia
.5 mg risperidone--for anxiety
neurontin, ???mg, for sleeping and other stuff

Every day. EVERY FUCKING DAY I TAKE THIS SHIT. I've been taking medications since I was 7 years old. WHY AM I SO FUCKED UP? I feel like a loner compared to my friends who don't take medicine. Is there ANYONE in the world out there like me that is sucessful, or manages to live? I'd have to say I'm a happy person, and I LOVE life, but tahnks to the anti-depressants and shit, you know?

It just saddens me taht I am so dependent on this medication, and there is no way I can go off of this shit, I'm on it for life. I'm addicted--can't go several hours without a regular dose of effexor/risperidal especially, because it makes me get withdrawal immediately..

Fuck this is so annoying; traveling is so hard.

Sorry for my rant, but I just need to know who in this world is in my position?

No, but that's why I don't do drugs, including caffeine. I hate the idea that I might not be sufficiently capable of controlling my mind and emotions on my own.

Well...dudezor as a fellow wonk-a-wonk-a-wonky I know that I often don't eat right. Daytime makes me nauseous & when I'm up all night, sometimes I don't want to eat because night makes me so calm. Sometimes I don't want to prepare food when others are sleeping too.

Do you know ...

"Psychological disorders

Omega-3s are known to have membrane-enhancing capabilities in brain cells.[5] One medical explanation is that omega-3s play a role in the fortification of the myelin sheaths. Not coincidentally, omega-3 fatty acids comprise approximately eight percent of the average human brain according to Dr. David Horrobin, a pioneer in fatty acid research. Ralph Holman of the University of Minnesota, another major researcher in studying essential fatty acids, who gave it the name, surmised how omega-3 components are analogous to the human brain by stating that "DHA is structure, EPA is function."

A benefit of omega-3s is helping the brain to repair damage by promoting neuronal growth.[5] In a six-month study involving people with schizophrenia and Huntington's disease who were treated with EPA or a placebo, the placebo group had clearly lost cerebral tissue, while the patients given the supplements had a significant increase of grey and white matter.[21]

Consequently, the past decade of omega-3 fatty acid research has procured some Western interest in omega-3s as being a legitimate 'brain food.' Still, recent claims that one's intelligence quotient, psychological tests measuring certain cognitive skills, including numerical and verbal reasoning skills, are increased on account of omega-3s consumed by pregnant mothers remain unreliable and controversial. An even more significant focus of research, however, lies in the role of omega-3s as a non-prescription treatment for certain psychiatric and mental diagnoses and has become a topic of much research and speculation.

In 1999, Andrew L. Stoll, MD and his colleagues at Harvard University conducted a small double-blind placebo-controlled study in thirty patients diagnosed with bipolar disorder. Over the course of nine months, he gave 15 subjects capsules containing olive oil, and another 15 subjects capsules containing nine grams of pharmaceutical-quality EPA and DHA. In doing so, he was able to make the general distinction between the placebo group failing to improve while the Omega-3 group experienced a noticeable degree of recovery. Though Stoll believes that the 1999 experiment was not as optimal as it could have been and has accordingly pursued further research, the foundation has been laid for more researchers to explore the theoretical association between absorbed omega-3s and signal transduction inhibition in the brain.[22]

"Several epidemiological studies suggest covariation between seafood consumption and rates of mood disorders. Biological marker studies indicate deficits in omega-3 fatty acids in people with depressive disorders, while several treatment studies indicate therapeutic benefits from omega-3 supplementation. A similar contribution of omega-3 fatty acids to coronary artery disease may explain the well-described links between coronary artery disease and depression. Deficits in omega-3 fatty acids have been identified as a contributing factor to mood disorders and offer a potential rational treatment approach." (American Journal of Psychiatry 163:1098-1100, June 2006)"

You don't need the medication, you just need to change your enviroment and the filters which you use to process the world. I can help you if you are in the Miami area, for I am a liscenced psychotherapist. I've had success with ADHD, actually curing 2 patients of mine. It could have been because they were bored and needed someone to challenge them but according to my clinical trials they're good.

I'm assiming thats Effexor XR, cos that stuff only has a half life of a few hours. So does trazodone. Effexor boosts your Serotonin, Norepinephrine and Dopamine levels, Trazodone also acts as a Serotonin reuptake inhibitor and anti depressant. But why the hell do you need both of them? Risperidone is an antipsychotic, not something usually used for anxiety.
Neurontin is a painkiller, what the hell do you need that for???
You are on too many drugs, but you know that already.

Nuerontin is a pain killer? I don't think so.. Are you sure? All I know is that the combination of all the drugs keeps me stable and that any rearranging of my medicine cycle is risky and serious.

Anyway, when I was 7 I started taking prozac...9 I started taking something else, can't remember waht it was, when I was almost ten my mind fucking collapsed on itself (suicidal shit), got help, and ever since i've been taking stuff like the drugs mentioned...

I have biploar disorder, yes.

And someone asked me if I eat lots of fruits and veggies; the answer is yes, yes I do. And i weight lift and do cardio, once I burn off this excess weight I have I'm probably going to go into body building...therefore...I am physically active and I am eating better tahn I was eating 1 year ago..

Whoever said that thing about Miami, you're sketchy. I live many hours from Miami.

EDIT:
I'm not sure which drug it is, either neurontin or trazodone, I started taking it because I had uncontrollable anger that really was getting out of hand. I KNOW that the combination of neurontin/trazodone/risperidal at night KNOCKS me out cold after a while of taking it. Semi-Instant sleep..deep, deep sleep. REM

Neurontin is the name Pfizer sells Gabapentin under. From wikipedia:

Gabapentin has also been used in the treatment of bipolar disorder. However, its off-label use for this purpose is increasingly controversial. Some claim gabapentin acts as a mood stabilizer and has the advantage of having fewer side-effects than more conventional bipolar drugs such as lithium and valproic acid.
Some small, non-controlled studies in the 1990s, most sponsored by gabapentin's manufacturer, suggested that gabapentin treatment for bipolar disorder may be promising. However, more recently, several larger, controlled, and double-blind studies have found that gabapentin was no more effective than (and in one study, slightly less effective than) placebo. Despite this scientific evidence that gabapentin in the treatment of bipolar disorder is not an optimal treatment, many psychiatrists continue to prescribe it for this purpose.

Gabapentin has limited usefulness in the treatment of anxiety disorders...

Gabapentin is best known under the brand name Neurontin manufactured by Pfizer subsidiary Parke-Davis. In December 2004, the FDA granted final approval to a generic equivalent to Neurontin made by Israeli firm Teva.

Neurontin is one of Pfizer’s best selling drugs ... in recent years Pfizer has come under heavy criticism for its marketing of Neurontin, facing allegations that behind the scenes Parke-Davis marketed the drug for at least a dozen supposed uses for which the drug had not been FDA approved.

By some estimates, so-called off-label prescriptions account for roughly 90% of Neurontin sales.... In 2004, Warner-Lambert agreed to plead guilty and pay $430 million in fines to settle civil and criminal charges regarding the illegal marketing of Neurontin for off-label purposes, and further legal action is pending.

Hate to say this, but it's a freakin' painkiller dude.

Further with regards the Trazodone, are you sure you take 600mg nightly?
I found dosing information on mentalhealth.com

The recommended initial dose is 150 to 200 mg daily, in 2 or 3 divided doses. Trazodone should be taken shortly after a meal or light snack in order to reduce the incidence of adverse reactions. The initial dose may be increased according to tolerance and response by increments of 50 mg, usually up to 300 mg daily in divided doses. In some patients, doses up to 400 mg daily and rarely up to 600 mg daily in hospitalized patients, may be required.

I don't think 600mg is safe.

That means nothing.

I don't think 600mg is safe.

What do you mean by that?

You won't die.

I thought I was dying once on 800 mgs of trazodone or so. Or maybe it was 1600 mgs. I forget.

I was only prescribed like, 50 mgs a night. haha.

horrible shit
