$50,000
When I turned eighteen I inherited a large sum of money from my dad. I don't know what to do with it, but I want to make it into more as I go through college.
Thankya.

Re: $50,000
if you want a sure-thing return, put it into a CD (if you don't need to use the money) or a money-market.
If you want to take risks and potentially get alot more, play the stock market.

Re: $50,000
Low-risk mutual fund is your best bet. You could easily make 12-15% per year.

This is also what I suggest. I don't like high risk, especially since you'll likely already be stressed through school, without risking your money as well.
Just look around for the best deal.

Re: $50,000
I would put 20 grand down on house and use the rest to make payments.
The housing market has nearly crashed and I think you will be able to sell the house for 75% more when you are done with college.

Re: $50,000
damn. I hope someone is going to leave me an inheritance. I would retire.
I would put it in stocks and make 5% a month.

I don't know the housing market in the US, but that's what I'd try and do.
