Default propane tanks

Not sure if this is the right place for this, but if not im sorry.

But anywho I bought a brand new grill 4 years ago, and for some reason never used it.

But im planning on using it tomorrow, but a thought came up. That propane has been in those tanks for 4 years, outside in the elements (new england weather) with out being used once.

Will it be safe to just take the tarp of the grill and fire it up? Or will I need to do something to make sure its safe to use?

thanks.

As long as the valves are in good shape it should be fine.

I would think it would be fine as long as there is no corrosion those things are made pretty well. Maybe wipe everything off a bit to get any grit and grime that could get into the connections when you hook it up.

This probally isn't the right place but atleast your not asking to make a bomb out of one so it is fine but for future reference this isn't the place.

In England we have petrol stations which stock 15kg propane tanks outside all year, and they stand freezing, raining, snow and occasional sun.

You should be fine man. I've seen all kinds of terrible weather, and the things still work. And I also thought this would be a thread about blowing them up.

No, it's a good thing to have a break from the idiot twelve year olds with their parent's hardware.

Enjoy your cow, but personally prefer lamb.
