eBay auction, gone wrong.
So I put this listing on ebay.
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...2119&rd=1&rd=1
Sold it, shipped it, no problems.
The guy recieved the saxophone and this is the email he sent me:
Hi,
I will keep this short , and to the point, ARE YOU KIDDING ME..? This saxaphone has been used, and abused to the max. It has been used way more than the 2 years you advertised. The mouthpiece is unusable. It has been used so much that the mouthpiece is permantly marked with the persons teeth.
You need to send me the OK to return this to you. If I do not receive the return authorization by this time tomorrow I will file a complaint with paypal, and ebay . I will not return this until you have returned my money, as this is how the transaction was originally placed. I do not want to tarnish your 100 percent rating. I am sure this was just an oversight on your part. The pictures you put on ebay do not detail any of this. The minor playwear, and scratches mentioned in your description should have said MAJOR SCRATCHES, AND PLAYWEAR. The lacquer is completely worn off in spots. This was not a STEAL for me, maybe for someone else.??
Sincerely,
Ben Jones
Now what does he think he is getting for 400 dollars on a 1700 retail instrument? I stated in my auction that there were impurities and scratches, I didn't bullshit this guy. It is not my fault he wasn't satisfied with the quality, maybe he should have bought a new one?
Anyways I am not going through the hassle of returning the money and re-selling this. I am pretty confident he won't have any case against me with eBay, since I told him exactly what he was buying, and he couldn't possibly get money from me on PayPal could he? Hes going to be a dick and give me bad feedback I guess but oh well.
What should I do? Just tell him sorry no returns?

Re: eBay auction, gone wrong.
The worst he can do is give you negative feedback. I've been through this before. He won't win the paypal claim, but he will give you negative feedback.

Re: eBay auction, gone wrong.
Cool thanks guys... this is what I sent him.
"Ben,
Sorry you weren't pleased with the saxophone you purchased. However, the item I sold you is the exact item I described in my auction. I stated CLEARLY that this was not a mint condition saxophone! You were aware of the scratches and impurities on the laquer. There were plenty of pictures to show you the condition of the saxophone. It is not my fault that the saxophone isn't up to your standards, maybe you should have bought a new saxophone? Did you expect a perfect saxophone for $346?
I won't be refunding your money, there are no returns.
-Josh"

Re: eBay auction, gone wrong.
You're definatley in the clear. Without seeing the actual sax i cant see how damaged it really is, but you had good enough pics / description of the damage imo. Its not like you said its perfect or anything.
Personally i have a return policy for all my items, I think it re-assures the customers and makes them more likley to buy the item. It's really not that much of a hassle to get them to send it back(from their pocket) and return their money over PP once you get it back.

Re: eBay auction, gone wrong.
I would give the money back if I was you IF he pays for the shipping.
A negative feedback can really ruin your reputation as a seller.

And why most people don't give out negatives cuz they know they'll probably be getting one in return. Only one of the flaws of ebays feedback system.

Re: eBay auction, gone wrong.
No dude, you are correct in this matter in not refunding his money. The multiple pictures clearly show it is used. He shouldnt have bid on it if he wanted a newer sax.
Fuck that dude in his ass...you should have told him in the email that as soon as you receive negative feedback, you will be blasting him with negative also.
Yamaha rocks.

Re: eBay auction, gone wrong.
maybe a picture of the mouthpiece - but he can get a new one
my dad got scammed on eBay for a t-shirt
any tips on this one? I suggested "legal" action to scare the bitch
anyways, keep us updated on this one, seems like he wants to cause un-needed hassle..
