That's certainly weird...

I can't find anything about private infractions, and can't even think of anyway to do it. It kind of sounds like one given to a PM, but we don't have PM's...

There's not even anything in the vB documentation about it (that I could see, anyway)...

Meta, explain yourself Mad

What don't you get? He gave the guy an infraction in that thread for spam or what ever. Simple as that? When you look at someones profile it tells you what infractions they have had.

Or am I totally missing what you're talking about?

In the spot where it would usually have a link to the thread where the infraction was given, or say "profile infraction" or something, it says Private.

Confused

When I click "View" under Details, it says "Invalid Thread specified. If you followed a valid link, please notify the administrator (http://www.totse.com/community/sendmessage.php)"

Maybe its because we're mods in the same forum as meta since, sybil, xip and myself can see the thread that it was in - in SG.

So mods can only view the details of infractions given in their own forums?

Hmm, this doesn't seem to be the case. I can see an infraction (http://www.totse.com/community/member.php?u=150136) that Meta gave in SG, but yet, another one is "private."
