Otherwise, make sure you get a corsage. They're inexpensive - $10-$15 - and yes, the girl will be expecting one. In turn, she should have a pin on flower for you.

Also, make the flower complements the color of her dress.

Same, all my friends made a "pact" not to go with anyone and now theres about 6 weeks until the prom and most of them have dates :(

flowers would be good, but she'd have to put them in a vase before you left, keep that in mind. I'd say white cala lilies with some long stemmed sterling (purple/gray) roses. half a dozen of each put together to make a gorgeous bouquet and not that hard on the budget, but you'll probably have to go to a REAL florist and not ralphs or albertstons or something like that.

Haha, the florist was like "ohmygosh, you've waited until the absolute last minute for the corsage, how could you!" I said I was foreign and didn't know this was customary in America. :(
