| Games People Play Games People Play is where to discuss personal computer, video game console, and arcade hardware and software - be it RPG, Sim, Strategy, Fighting, Action/Platform, or any other category. Although discussion of modern platforms/software will most likely dominate, discussion of classic videogame/computer hardware and software is always enjoyable, and certainly welcome - ESPECIALLY since there are public domain/shareware emulators of nearly every older computer/console available these days. Here's a taste of what awaits you: Nintendo-vs-Sega-vs-Sony, Console-vs-PC-vs-Mac, Hardware spec sheets/information, Industry news and discussion, Software reviews, IRC conference announcements/Reports, Emulators, Emulators, Emulators! ... and much, much more! |

Engrossing rpg's
Well I'm getting surgery on wednesday, and am gana be out of action for abit, so I'm looking for a epic RPG game to keep me busy for the next week or two. I have already beat every elderscrolls game, so thats out of the question, and I'm looking for a game that would also be vista compatible, anyone got any suggestions?

Fallout & Fallout 2. I'm currently playing through Fallout 2 for the first time and I've at least spent 17 hours in the last two days without even realizing it.

He's looking for a fucking engrossing rpg, not a mind-rotting pile of shit mmorpg!
I recommend Baldur's Gate and then Baldur's Gate 2. Those will take a while to finish, surely.

Currently playing KOTOR and it's cool but also lame. Plenty long though...I recommend Neverwinter Nights or Baldurs Gate

Re: Engrossing rpg's
I wouldn't exactly call Neverwinter Nights immersing or engrossing, it successfully puts me into a comatose within minutes of playing. I don't think 3rd edition (or pseudo-third edition) rules like NWN translate well into games.

Also look up Cave Story (make sure to get the English patch for it) too.
