I think you're better off getting a loan from a bank... Credit card interest is crazy. I guess you could buy the car using a credit car, assuming it's a dealership, they'd probably let you. Don't think you can if it's just a private seller though.

my credit card gives me checks I can write. I used it for a down payment on my car.

My CC (Visa) let's me cash advance it at the ATM just like it's a debit card. You can also order cheques from your financial institution and write them like a normal cheque except instead of taking it out your bank it subtracts the amount from your available credit. I'd get a loan though, you're going to pay crazy intrest on a CC.
