yeah we are assholes and we piss off a ton of nations, but we are the most powerful country in the world.

independent groups like al-queda attacked us based on anger. We upset them i believe by ruining some mass ritual for them during dessert storm, and our principles are really angering them, like our freedoms. Our freedoms are contrary to their religion. They are basically crusading against us.



But its hard to brainwash an ENTIRE country to launch themselves against us in this time and age, or for someone to be dumb enough to do so. Only really unstable countries like north korea are gonna pull something like that, and we got other countries on our side backing us on that one.

Well we have no control over that "if" we piss people off or not. By us i mean people who live here. Someday someone might do something to piss someone off and they bomb us to shit.

just a note on that, it doesn't require much technology. they had their own space ship, they put their foot down and rammed it. nothing involving lasers or orbiting cannons or anything spiffy. everyone got excited about that not because they could do it, but because they did it to as a way to threaten the US.

hatred of the west comes from alot more than israel. al qaeda was formed when the US stopped backing militants in afghanistan against the russians. the militants became pissed they lost their support, the country turned to shit and they decided it was all americas fault. but thats not surprising, they hated america from the start, but gladly took weapons from them.

but basically after afghanistan, they had no more russians to fight so they decided to attack the symbol of western imperialism, the US. western culture really pisses fundamentalist muslims off, so they target the leader of it. it is of course far more complicated than that, but the point is that israel doesn't play a part until way later in the story.
