There's a NEW Mexico?

Went on a date last night, etiquette, analysis of signals.
Well since we're trying to use the most description in thread titles I figured I'd try to set an example. Also, this will be long, because I was born a ramblin' man.
First off, a couple months ago I thought I'd never be able to get myself out of the hole I'd dug myself.... anti-social, depressed, feeling helpless and altogether worthless. Well, for all you people who feel like that, there's hope.
I finally got up the nerve to actually do something about it and asked a very nice, lovely girl out on a date. Beforehand, I told myself that I wouldn't allow the night to be awkward at all, since I really didn't want to screw anything up. So, we went to coffee, and due to my persistent efforts to hold up an interesting conversation and hold back my shyness, we had a, well, interesting conversation. There were some moments that could have turned out awkwardly, like when I figured out that not only did she really not like coffee, but also didn't like milk (in her coffee), I genuinely apologized with a smile and we laughed it off.
So if you've been looking for good news, maybe that will help you realize that it's not as hard as you're making yourself think it is.
Now, here are my noobie-dating questions. Please, hold your snickering :). Since there isn't much to do in our little town, I had talked to a friend who said that they were going to be drinking and that we would be welcome to come. So, after our coffee, I tried to get a hold of them, with no luck. So we drove around doing miscellaneous things (I was kind of nervous, seeing as how I had no fucking clue what we were going to do at 10 o'clock at night in a shit town), having fun. She said she was tired a little while into it, so I said I was going to take her home, which she refused to do. This is a good sign, right? Or do you think that she was just being polite? She is a self-confessed anxious person... she said that she is a people pleaser, so I don't know. She's so goddamn cute, no matter what she does.
Also, throughout the night she started gravitating towards me in her seat in the car, which I see as a good sign.
So I finally take her home after we pretty much went all over town, and I walked her to her door. This is the only part of the night where I really felt awkward... because I didn't want her to think I was expecting a goodnight kiss or anything. I told her very sincerely that I had a great time, while looking in her eyes, and then I walked away. She looked kind of disinterested, but I can't be sure. Perhaps she was just feeling awkward as well? I mean, what the fuck is the standard procedure here?
Anyway, I can't stop thinking about her. I don't want to look like an obsessed fool, especially if she's not interested and is just being polite.
Thanks in advance for any input you have.

Re: Went on a date last night, etiquette, analysis of signals.
Good date or bad date, if you were stuck in a rut of being an anti-social leper and managed to score a date then there are only positives to take away from the night.
Unless you see her during your usual daily routine (school, work, whatever) then leave it a few days then call her. Tell her you enjoyed it and wouldn't mind doing something next weekend.
Just don't let yourself fall into the trap of feeling helpless or worthless again. Keep up the offensive, soldier!

Awesome.
I'd say it was an alright date. Next time make sure you have some kind of activity planned, though. I hate driving around in shit-towns.

This thread is useless without pics.
And for the love of god, do something other than drive around next time.
