What are your thoughts so far? Personally I think this season is amazing. The first episode blew me away, especially the opening and closing to the Johnny Cash song "I hung my head".

GREAT SEASON!! first 3 episodes were fucking great!! i didnt like the fourth one that much but episode 5 was once again amazing(episode 4+5 on internet). this is without a doubt the best show on tv. chiklis and goggins should win oscars, there acting has been the best i've ever seen.

I think you mean Emmys. And yeah, a lot of the shield actors deserve awards for their performances, not just in this season, but also for last season which they were robbed of.

This show gets a lot of great PR and praise for being a topnotch, groundbreaking series (to say the least), but come Emmy time, they always get ignored. Of course Michael Chiklis had already won an Emmy for outstanding lead actor in a drama series but was never again nominated after that, and instead they go ahead and nominate James Gandolfini some five or six times for playing Tony Soprano. The first ten minutes of a Shield episode are usually better than an entire episode of The Sopranos. It's almost like the academy members were afraid of getting whacked if they didn't recognize James's character every year. Oh well...I'm just bitching and moaning now.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, The Shield is THE best drama on television. Period.

yeah emmy's. you can find them on mininova, torrentspy, thepiratebay, all the good torrent sites. They air in france before they air here(wtf?) 2 episodes a week over there every thursday. i agree, the shield has been robbed too many times. the past seasons have been GREAT!! but this season is just taking it i believe, so if they dont get awarded im going to be majorly pissed off.

I started watching The Shield from the beginning just 1 or 2 weeks ago, and it is definitely my new favorite show. I thought 24 was edgy and unpredictable, but this blows it out of the water.

I just started season 4, and I've been watching season 6 concurrently. So far I've noticed that the 1st two seasons were all-around awesome (the riot episodes were fucking perfect, and the scene where Vic's family is gone is one of the most memorable things I"ve seen on TV), the last few episodes of season 3 were good (I especially love this scene at the end of 3x09 where they take down some russian gangsters), and season 4 is....well, kinda shitty so far, but hopefully it'll improve.

I've heard good things about season 5, so I'm looking forward to that.

To get back on topic: Where the hell do they go from here? They've even got another season after this. They can't just bury the thing with Shane's guilt, but no matter what the outcome is, the Strike Team is done. I guess such a thing would have to fall apart eventually, eh? Still, they have to end the series well. In my opinion, the outcome will probably revolve around Shane dying, Vic dying or being on the run (I highly doubt they'd puut him in jail, but I also doubt they'd have his character have a nice, calm retirement), and Ronnie being okay.

God, such a good show.

The use of Coldplay's song Trouble in the season finale of season one was brilliant. It should have one an award for editing.

Yeah dude. I swear, The Shield has the most powerful episode endings out there. They choose the most perfect moment to cut to black...even in the lamer episodes, the ending is fucking spot on. The endings they do with music are the best though...

Anyway, I knew I'd find you here in a The Shield thread.

I have a theory that this will be the last season. I'm just picturing it ending now. I know Shawn Ryan said there would be another one, but I think that's just a decoy (just like the way he listed Terry Crowley's actor Reed Diamond as a "star" to keep the secret that he dies after just 2 episodes)

What do you think? I'm picturing the new guy taking over the strike team, Shane dying, and Vic retiring.
