What is it about having a crush that allows all reason and logic to so readily abandon a man?

I simply melt when i see the young lady of my affections, litrally turning into a babbling idiot. I become painfully aware that I have not brushed my hair, have just ate pickled onion Monster Munch or whatever. And talking to her is even worse. I swear, she must be telepathic, gently probing my mind to determine my motives and depths of my affection.

Lets not forget the planning and meticlous care that has to be devoted to the good fight! Personal appearance must be maintained at all times, look suitably harrased and nonchalant when she acknowledges my presence, (although in reality I feel like I am being strectched from both my head and feet at the same time).

And to be brutually honest? She terrifies me. This must be what its like to be in front of a nightmare, or the Devil or whatever. Total and utter powerlessness and unable to fight back and totally submissive. I am no beast of burden, but this girl could have me emptying the ocean with a spoon.

And you know what? I love every stolen glance, the giddy thrill of walking past her, and the way my chest swells with pride when she smiles/laughs at my feeble jokes.

I think about her in my triumphs and in my defeats, and although many of my thoughts about her focus on me being brave and noble and rescuing her, it is she that redeems me.


So guys, if you are the object of somones desire, be gentle. You dont realise just how high a pedestal we put you on.

im defanitely the lucky one,i was in BAD condition a week ago.mono makes ALL of your glands swell like hell,and on top of my mono i got tonsulitis...my neck was so swollen my throat was nearly swollen shut...i was in the intensive care unit in the hospital for a week and had to have surgery.she harldly left my room,only when i would fall asleep she would go eat/sleep and when i woke up she was usually right there.she helped me shower,shave,put on deoderant...anything and everything i couldnt really do.i really dont deserve her,and she is BEAUTIFUL on top of it.she helped me through quitting drugs,getting a straight life and getting back into school.its perfect,her family loves me,i love her family and my family loves her.i honestly never have had anything so good in my life.i owe her my life and im gonna use the rest of my life to prove it to her.

that was SOOOOO emo,but im gonna write her a letter for our anniversary and those were some of the things im gonna include in it,so i was just kinda "covering bases'.

You know how when you walk up to her to ask her something and she looks at you, and you get all cold and sweaty and you don't know what to say so you're all starting at her and then you start to panic because you've been staring at her for way too long for it not to be wierd and you forget why you even came up to her in the first place and then, right before you vomit all over yourself she just smiles or says something nonchalant and then you have to lean against the wall and smoke a cigarette as she walks away?
