When I was younger and much stupider, I never wore a condom and I fucked some girls that had also gotten around quite a lot.

Now I wear a condom almost religiously.

I mean, this girl doesn't seem that dirty, but she comes from florida, and god knows what goes on over there. The risk of female-to-male transmission is actually very low, especially with a single encounter. Although obviously it was a stupid thing to do and you should get tested for everthing you can be tested for ASAP, you're most likely in the clear.

Actually, the PCR test does not detect "the virus". It detects a piece of the viral RNA or DNA genome, but not even the complete genome.

My recommendation: If you test "positive" — Don't take the drugs!!!

Apparently they're often-misinterpreted figures giving the chance of catching HIV if you sleep with a random partner of unknown HIV+/- status in a population where HIV is present, in a single sexual encounter. I'm not sure how they got the single statistic, though, since HIV incidence varies hugely in different populations. Maybe I'm mis-remembering something.

Hmm, it says "Estimated infections per 10,000 exposures to an infected source" in that article. Weird.

But since the OP doesn't know for sure HIV +/- status of his partner, chances are he's not infected anyway.

To begin with, Wikipedia is a piece of crap and everyone knows that. I've become a bit obssesed with HIV so I bought a book that gives info about the origin, symptoms, spread, prevention and absolutely everything you need to know about that horrible virus and its conseguent disease.

I can assure that HIV is neither found in saliva, tears, sweat nor urine.
THe fluids with high concentration of the virus would be sperm, vaginal juices, women's milk and blood of course.

HIV is a fucked up reality not a conspiracy so stop spreading false hopes around people. This virus can and will kill you if you let it happen.

HIV is a retroactive RNA strand virus that writes itself into your DNA. If you contract HIV there is little to no chance that you will live longer than fifteen years after its inception. It is transferable by the blood/semen barrier meaning that it is not found in sweat, breath, saliva or standard contact. However, HIV can be transferred by blood and semen. It would take about a week for it to transfer over from a WBC impersonator. If you didn't wear a condom and fucked someone with HIV, then chances are about 75/25 against you that you will get HIV. I wouldn't gamble with your dick, son. People with HIV make up about 1% of our populous. There is about a .75% chance you have HIV. Although this is an immensely low percentile you're still a fuckwit for having tested it.

EDIT: what is there to argue about with this? Just tell the kid to get tested, that's all it takes.
