Would you trust some one after they did these things?
Okay, a psychiatrist said I have 'trust issues' and 'extreme paranoia', yeah, I probably do, but with good reason. For me, trust issues and paranoia transform into "justified lack of trust in the world and those around them". How the fuck is that an issue? It's a means to preventing further pain. I'd be MORE worried about the dude who gets hurt then willingly and easily lets some one else in, just to do it again.
Aaaany way, rant aside, if some one you were romantically involved with did the following:
1. Went to a restaurant with a close male friend you have no issues with, and trust completely. Only to go through her phone* and realize it was actually a dude she kissed a while back during a break because "he'd broken up with his girlfriend" (She tells you never to worry about this guy, at this point they're just friends and could never be more**)
*When some one tells you they go through your phone, it feels only natural that you show them the same courtesy.
2. After said break, you get back together, have a fanstic time, to quote her "the best she's ever felt", only for the next day she goes to the cinemas with an ex boyfriend she swore to never see again. The only reason she tells you is because you were at the same movie, same cinemas, same session, she saw you, but you didn't see her. She didn't know this how ever.
3. 6 months later, you dump her. She starts dating the guy she was comforting at the restaurant (Dude from **). In this time they're only casual and still in an open relationship. You see her, you do what you used to, the other guy doesn't know, and she tells you she'll end it with him. A week later she tells you she still hasn't, but that she will soon. Then a week passes again and they've progressed even further. Two weeks pass, she tells you she hates being with him, that she doesn't maker her happy and all she wants is you. You see each other, have sex a fuckload. Then you fight, after much deliberation she tells you she started fucking him. Only AFTER you'd had unprotected sex with her, and after she had to be angry at you to tell you the truth.
Conclusion: I don't trust this person, I treat them with disrespect, and am very cautious of what they say/do. I tell them I want them out of my lives and sever all ties with them. Apparently that makes me 'untrusting and paranoid'. After all they did, was I justified?
After you guys were hurt, did you just restore faith in people soon afterwards? Or did you create a barrier to guard your self? I think the person who doesn't is more fucked up than the person who does.

No need to worry about me, man. :p
....looking through your post, I wouldn't trust her if I didn't just blindly put trust into everything (or at least try to, living life with no cares is harder than it appears :p), but my ex did much worse to me and I kept on trusting her. and I still continue to, although that word doesn't mean much.
I know exactly what she does, and why she doesn't even if she can't. I've seen just exactly how she manipulates and plays mind games...It was an amazing experience to observe her while high, although I kept freaking out because I thought I was only being paranoid from the weed but I know it's true. She's a manipulative bitch, whether she knows it or not.
but yeah, basically you're completely justified, but you still have a major psychological problem regarding trust, your shrink is just a fucktard. the issue isn't about you being justified, it's WHY you're justified, or more accurately, why having your trust broken hurt you so much and why you had this trust in the first place. it seems like something you shouldn't have to think about, since it's so prevelant in males, but the life unexamined is the life not fit to live.

Re: Would you trust some one after they did these things?
I'm the same way. Lost all trust in 98% of people have a series of incidents involving "friends". I have a hard time confining anything to, well, anyone. Only two people I trust.
1. Parents, kinda..
2. Girlfriend.
Getting my trust is hard, and I don't give it out, ever. Its a decent way to live, spares you from all the silly social devastation that could occur. Gossip, rumors, typical stupid things; considering that people only really ever fucking talk about other people -.-
Good day, off to school -.-

People don't deserve trust they have to earn it, and that slut didn't earn a god dam thing. What your psychiatrist will make you have trust in her only to have it smashed again. But seriously you can trust other people but fuck that dirty bitch. Just leave her and find someone who isn't complete dirt.

No fucking wonder you've trust issues and paranoia!
:(
You may be a bit of an ass at times on totse, but no one deserves that sort of treatment.
I think your distrust is totaly justified, and that psychiatrist needs a slap.
Why do you bother with this person? is she something super special?

Not 'friends' that they have a history of fucking. Sorry, 'kissing', is how they call it now, to make it seem like they're not as much of a whore.

Errr? I go out with a friend all the time. I've never seen her as more.
And yoyo, no, she isn't special. It just took a lot of shit for me to realize that there are no exceptions to the rule. Girls are scheming, plotting bitches.

you're a fast learner. Most men dont learn till they're atleast in their fourties..
Accept the fact that whilst some humans can be lovely great people, they are still infact, human. Therefore they are automatically scheming plotting bitches.
We all are, however well we might hide it.

Nah, girls are schemers and plotters, guys are doers.
Guys are pussy hunting, mob-minded, aggressive show offs, but we don't hide it.
Girls put up this mask, and look all so sweet and beautiful, like this little box with nice wrapping, a cute bow tie and a hole that has the words "Fuck me" printed above it . But males don't know that inside that box there is actually a cigar cutter waiting for them directly next to the hole. Then there's some anthrax, dog shit, 10,000 fire ants, ball bearings coated in HIV infected blood, and a pound of C4.
That is my metaphor for women.
Guys are just raging baboons throwing shit at each other in a china store. Nah, we're cool.

Re: Would you trust some one after they did these things?
I figured out why that is, too.
See, I think women are merely more self-centered than most men. Women need a cock inside of them to be complete, and they need to fuck as many guys as possible to make sure she gets the best sperm. So they're constantly thinking of how to gain control of you. They all want to be a queen bee.
That's why if you don't let them have control they get really fucking pissed off and want you even more.

I had my trust destroyed many times over by women. Really it's like women will fuck you over, and you lose trust. Then there are some that will fuck you over BECAUSE you didn't trust them!
How is it that women seem to have the market cornered on heartbreak? I mean, men suck but we are blunt about it.

Before this turns into a 'Yeah! women all suck!' type thread and you start sucking each other off, I must point out that men can be just as smart, horrible, cunning, spitefull and just as malicious as women.

EXACTLY, I dont think its women or men in general its more so just shitty people... ive met and have many good friends who are male and female (who are great people). I also know alot of girls and guys who have fucked up a good few people in relationships and dont feel any regret.. they twist reality so they can imagine themselves as the victim.
