What rights are taken away from you in a public school? My school is supposedly having 'drug dogs' come in to sniff the lockers, and we're all getting searched tomorrow and Friday. Does a school have the authority to search your locker with out probable cause, as in if there are no dogs can they search certain lockers randomly? Please support your answer with some proof thanks

Yes police can search your lockers and vehicles b/c its on their property. Just dont bring any drugs on the days the dogs come!

Sorry, don't have any proof, but:

1. I'm assuming you're a minor. You don't have the same "rights" as an adult.

2. By law, the school you go to acts as your parent while you are their. In this way, anything short of abuse is legal.

In the same way that it's not illegal for your parent to search your closet, your school may search your locker.

Lol. They tell you when the dogs are coming? At my highschool they just brought them in on random days to bust as many people as possible.

In school rights is an oxymoron.

Once you are in school, your rights drop to about none.... espicially if you are under 18. Well There are drug sniffing & bomb sniffing dogs that come all the time at my school. They won't search every student in the school because that would take MANY MANY countless hours. At our school, the method of handling drugs it to keep them on you and if you can in the bottom of your soles on your shoes, and if its bigger than in your boxers taped up or so. Btw, my school has 4500 people so like er... maybe they WILL search you because ur school might be a hick school with like 150 people XD

You know it's fucked up when the school cop shows up to your house and tells you that you can be suspended/expelled for things you said on the internet to your girlfriend about drugs. Luckily I never got suspended or expelled but lately those motherfuckers have been watching me like crazy...

Though I seriously doubt that they're going to search you, as like go through your pockets and shit. That'd take too long and usually when the dogs come to my school they're in and out in less than 45 minutes.

if someone wants to bring something to school to give to you, tell them to wait until the end of the day. have them put it in their pocket and give it to you in the hall after the last class. even if someone snitches, by the time you leave the school cops or the principal won't have enough time to get you and unless it's on camera they can't do shit.

but yeah don't get caught man, my girlfriend was expelled a month or two back and got arrested and charged with a felony, distribution of a controlled substance for giving a few people tramadol.
