basic chem
I thought it would be better to ask here than in lab tips, because most of the chemists seem to dwell here; but if not, please feel free to move it.
Now, without further bullshit:
Im looking to get into chemistry; and Im having trouble finding sites that offer classes from basic to advanced for free. Does anyone know of some such sites? I need about from chemical structure up, but I understand the very (VERY) basics.
Any help will be greatly appreciated. (Yes, I know that chemistry is a pain in the ass to learn, but Im prepared for it, and wont just lose interest when they start to use big words.)

Re: basic chem
Check out a book on organic chemistry from the library. In fact check out TWO books.

Re: basic chem
no, lab tips is where to ask this.
But I'll still try and answer - I think this is one of those times checking a book out of the library is going to be more helpful than the internet.

Re: basic chem
ok, Ill post in lab tips. I thought about going to the library, but I find poeple here are more knowledgeable than a librarian who can only tell me a vague idea of what the book covers, whereas; here, people actually have experience.

Meh... fuck it. Let's piss off the mods by turning this thread into a private tutelage!!
Seriously! I'm down!!
Okay... for the very beginning, it's a pop quiz. I'm going to ask you the two most important questions in chemistry :
1) What is a "salt."
2) Do oil and water mix?

You dont need chemistry to make meth thats basically following a recipe shit you only need 2 chemicals ephedrine and red phosphorus and maybe something im forgetting but meth is not hard to make
but good luck nelokjer im doing highschool chem and i want to follow it through university it is fucking difficult at first but once you get the basics down its alot easier
just go to the library even if the librarians not helpful as long as the books title includes "chemistry" and "basic" your good.

Re: basic chem
I think you will get better answers in Lab Tips, since those folks know more, in general, than those here.
That's not saying some of us here don't know, but the ratio of those who would know Vs those who either don't and will try to sound like they do, or just hand you bullshit/flame you, is a lot higher - no pun intended - there.

Re: basic chem
There are loads of sites offering e-books or basic to advanced chemistry on the NET. MIT have free video instruction in some areas of chemistry, About.com has lessons in everything from 'Swahelian Blow Jobs' to 'How to cure yourself of Swahelian Clap' etc
BUT you should at the very least have a good Chemistry book.
ScienceMadness.com has a lot of e-books in all sorts of stuff.....
