The AMD versus Intel thing is mostly just preference. I've always used AMD for my gaming machines. I do have an Intel laptop... it works well. After reading some info on Intel's new chips compared...

Another thing that I think was missed in my original post was that I was getting 4gb of Ram. Two pairs of 1GBx2. I wouldn't blow $300 on 2gb of ram unless I wanted some serious overclocking stuff.
