Isopropyl nitrate is poisonous and can go through the skin IIRC, so if he acts like an idiot this time it may be his last.

The synth on rougesci would work to an extent, but is totally unnecessary. According to Davis's The Chemistry of Powder and Explosives, Isopropyl Nitrate:

"Is preparedby the interaction of Isopropyl Iodide and silver nitrate. The hydrogen atom which is attached in isopropyl alcohol is so easily oxidized that it is not feasible to prepare the compound by the action of nitric acid on the alcohol."

Although HNO3 may be more readily available, doing the synth this way would be better because you would get more product due to the volatilization of isopropyl alcohol and the heavily exothermic nature of reactions with nitric acid.

who cares? IP is cheap as hell. Compared to silver nitrate and I guess you'd have to prepare IP iodide from its constituents.
