"Ay-men" or "Ah-men"?
I say Ay-men. Is it an American/British thing?

ah-men. mainly because the only time i every say it is when i am forced to sing hymns, and you should never hold an ay.

Then again, I pronounce it most often in Hebrew prayer, and that is the original phonetic pronunciation (אמן - meaning essentially "verily" or "this is true").

I see it printed in Hebrew prayers as omein but amen is just one of those words whose pronunciation has changed over time with dialects of English. Since I don't normally say Hebrew prayers, I don't say omein. When saying English prayers I say ah-men because it's just the best English pronunciation.
