Default Tattoo

Well i'm visiting Florida and i'll probably be able to get a tattoo. I want to get a full sleeve on my left arm from the wrist up in Japanese art. From the wrist to the elbow I want a koi fish(good luck) and water and from the elbow up I want half dark cloud with a wind and sunny sky blowing the dark sky away(blowing the bad days away). I was wondering, how long it would take just to get the outline done.

A long time and a lot of money.
Even with a fast artist that would still take hours, especially if you're wanting it very detailed and the artist is any good.

for something that extensive you're looking at a good 10 hours just for the outlining, and it's going to cost you a ton of money. But post pics if you actually do it - sounds like it'll be bad ass looking

Well, I think what i'll probably end up doing is, doing it in two halves. One part just the lower section, the koi and water, i'm also possibly thinking a lotus in the mix too. Then a couple of days later get the upper section done. I'll only be in Florida for a week, but I can always get more done when I visit.

Opinions are like assholes, everyone has one. Anyways, it has meaning to me and I don't care what you think.

Despite the fact that I agree with Christ about it being very "me too," I'd say do what you want. The only thing that I have to say is not to get it all done at once. Consider the fact that once you've done your entire arm, filled it completely, there's no room for change or growth. Part of the fun of sleeves is building them piece by piece to be a patchwork of tattoos that represent you at different and at all times in your life. I'd say to focus on one part like the koi and it's background and spend more money on that one part getting it perfect. Build the sleeve from there and have fun piecing it together like a quilt. Who knows what new and better ideas you'll have along the way?

Man that would be badass, though it would take a long time and be very expensive. I'm looking into getting a tattoo myself but one of my mom's friend's is going to do it for free because he owes her a shitload of money.

Your idea sounds fucking awesome though.
