I'm a firm believer that a "Bel-Air" only is a "Bel-Air" if it's some type of seemingly normal story or anecdote, usually one that's pretty interesting and involving for the reader, that abruptly yet smoothly transitions into the Fresh Prince theme song.

A Bel Air is not:
-A sign/building/place that says or is called "bel air"
-A picture of Will Smith
-A picture from the show
-Prank calling someone and having Fresh Prince theme music in the background

I'm so sick of seeing idiots with "stories" like: "lol, I was on my computer looking at lemonparty when all of a sudden i got bel-aired by a pop-up ad for Pursuit of Happyness." or how they got bel-aired because they drove past a hotel called Belair.

Bel-Airing someone is writing a page long story, that slowly leads up to this point, you can't rush these things.

That's how Bel-Air started, yeah. But it doesn't have to be a story in order to be effective, the point is merely to piss people off & make them laugh at the same time by intriguing them and then somehow leading into something Fresh Prince-related. The greatest Bel-Air of all-time was a video.

But anyways, yeah, it's not a Bel-Air if it's not an orchestrated effort to waste someone's time.
