Friend/money bullshit
Long:
So about six months ago I gave a good friend of mine $100 to buy me some drugs. He was supposed to call me back that night, but I didn't end up getting a hold of him till a couple days after. He said that after the deal he got shit kicked and the $20 he had left of my money was taken. He said that he still had the drugs and that I could pick them up later. But he's impossible to get a hold of (no cell, never home, you know that kind of person) and eventually he said that his mom had found them and thrown them out.
Buuuut...This friend in question is a coke head so I would not be surprised at all if my money went right up his nose and his story is a load of shit. But before you call me a retard for giving my money to a coke head, you must realise that he had never given me any reason not to trust him before. Before this incident, he had bought drugs for me a million times, he's never stolen from me and I trusted him completely with my money.
So now what do I do? I've come to realise that he was not a true friend if he's willing to throw our friendship away over a hundred bucks, but it hurts me to think this. Until this happened I considered him one of my closest friends.
And now I want my money back. I emailed him saying "I'm done with your bullshit, you have a month to pay me back." He hasn't emailed me back yet, but it's only been a couple of days. But I have a feeling that he wont write back or call me, so what now? My boyfriend fucking hates this guy and would beat the shit out of him in a heartbeat if he had the chance. I'm tempted to let him do it if a month passes and my friend doesn't contact me. That's really immature though, but at the same time, I don't see any other way to get my money back.
What should I do? Should I cut my losses and move on? Or does my friend deserve to get his ass kicked because he stole from me?
Short: My friend owes me $100 and I don't know how to get it back, or if I should even bother.

Re: Friend/money bullshit
One question you should ask is whether $100 is enough to make the hassle worthwhile. I've had to extract money from people on a number of occasions (using means ranging from legal action to extreme violence) and often it's just not worth the trouble for small amounts. I try to think of lost money as "school fees".
A serious cokehead isn't going to be able to support his habit and come up with your money but good luck with it anyway.

He's a friend, but he's a fuckin junkie. Cut your losses and try to move on. If he actually shows and tries to make it right, let him. Saving this friendship isnt your responsibility at this point.

Re: Friend/money bullshit
Yeah, you guys are probably right. It's probably not worth it to start shit over $100. But I forgot to mention that he has a full time job. So I don't care if he doesn't have the money now, he will definitely have it by his next pay cheque and I really think he should pay me back! I guess it's up to him though...

Re: Friend/money bullshit
If he's earning then you may be able to get it back. I'd just make sure he knows you're kinda ticked and let his conscience do the work. I would wonder though, if he's always been trustworthy before why would it go up his nose this time?

Maybe it did, maybe it didn't. His story just seemed kind of lame and he's been avoiding me for so long that I began to doubt it. It's not really important. I don't really care what he did with the money, I just want it back.

Re: Friend/money bullshit
I wouldn't bother having him as a friend. Just ex-communicate him from the Church of SickBoy.
A friend of mine is owed £100 by this dumb bitch (note.. this is one of those girls who is actually a friend and could never be anything more because she's horribly unattractive.. perhaps fun humoured sometime.. but otherwise..) and he sees her les and less because she doesn't make any effort to pay up and when prompted, she never does anything. It was originally £250 and it took effort getting anything out of her, despite the fact she got £2000 in a court claim soon after.

Re: Friend/money bullshit
Sue him in small claims court (prefferably Judge Judy, who just LOVES drug dealers, and their buyers). If you deal in illicit activities, don't expect the judicial branch to jump down in your favor.
Be a MAN and kick him in the nuts until he either gives you your money or your drugs.
p.s. this thread is useless without pics!!!

Re: Friend/money bullshit
I suggest you kick the shit out of him yourself. It might be safer than get your boyfriend into all this mess.
And yes$100 is fucking worth it!
It's not really the amount, but the fact that you trusted that mother fucker, and he screwed you.
Regardless of if he lost your money or your drugs, you said he still has a full time job, and he's still got enough money to shove coke up his nose, so, it was HIS fault you lost your money, he can afford to pay you back out of his own earnings.
Go find that fuck and rip his balls off.
He abused your trust. Buy a set of these (http://www.surplusandadventure.com/ishop/800/shopscr1977.html) and proceed to beat the living fucking shit out of him.

Re: Friend/money bullshit
Haha, nunchucks!!! That's awesome. Although I'm a soft squishy girl and it would just be a joke if I even tried to hit anyone. Even a frail coke head, lol.
Here's a picture of him giving me bunny ears, and me doing my sexiest face EVER:

Ugh, I think I'm just going to cut my losses. I get mad at my friends who resort to violence so it would be really hypocritical for me to turn this into a big violent mess. My boyfriend is 4 years older than my friend and way bigger so it wouldn't be a fair fight at all. Oh well.

Re: Friend/money bullshit
Chels, are you serious?
Is she serious?
Are you serious?
Ya know, you've been screwed! Completely. BUT! But there's nothing you can do about it (look, I not only started a scentence with but, I made it into a complete scentence beforehand and completely raped the English language!)
Giving someone money to get you drugs... you give over money, they dissappear, you are alone without your money or drugs and AWARE of the risks, and most of the time it ends nicely and you get your drugs and change.
You didn't get anything back, however, and have now lost an aquaintance and a contact because you don't believe what he told you. Sure, he was probably lying. He possibly wasn't, but I wouldn't take the risk myself.
I also would leave it be, let it lie, forget about it. You took the risk of asking someone else to get you something illegal and things turned out sour. The End.

Re: Friend/money bullshit
Arent the nunchucks calling you!?!
I've done far worse, well, a little bit worse, than beat a guy with some nunchucks. He took something very important from me. And no I'm not talking about the DVD first series of star trek.
