alright here's the deal... i've never been in this kind of situation before and need some advice in taking this somewhere...

so here's a quick breakdown... I've had a crush on my professor since the beginning of the semester and can't seem to get her out of my head... she's 22 (3 years younger than me), we share many of the same interests, we have similar personalities, and i guess you can say i see her as an ideal mate... anyway... it's driving me nuts! if it were another student in the class I wouldn't have an issue approaching her but this is foreign territory to me being that she's a professor (technically speaking she's a masters student.) I guess I'm a bit hesitant as she's an authority figure and I'm unsure of the repercussions involved (university policy on staff dating etc).

Any advice in persuing her? I know she's single.. but unfortunately I also know her father just passed away like a little over a half year ago... so i guess this is sort of lingering in my mind as well..

I've tried over and over again to talk myself out of this but just can't seem to do so...

Do well in the class, and then keep in touch until you are finished with the class. A week or so later ask her out. Most proffesors don't go out with their current students... but a week later and BAM! [that is how most of my colleagues got dates]
