Girls know it when they are desireable to other men. My girlfriend gets jealous when other girls hit on me. I had a girl come up to my register and give me her number out of the blue. She accepts it and knows that I have enough sex appeal for that to happen.

She has tons of guys who have random crushes on her, but I don't mind. I'm flattered they approve of my choice.

Ok being a girl and having lots of gorgous friends that are girls I can tell you that it is VERY hard to find a beautiful girl who thinks she is. Damn society.

The ones who are comfortable with their bodies and notice the attention know it. But many girls are very critical of themselves. I went out with a girl who looked great and all my friends said that she was hot, but she was insecure about her body and didn't think so. So I guess that it depends.
But the girls who use it to their advantage certainly know it.

I think it is exactly like guys, think about it.

For example, I get more than average amount of girls complimenting my looks or having crushes on me, and it isn't my personality. Still though, i would have ABSOLUTELY no clue at all as to how hot I am. Girls may acknowledge they get hit on often but they hardly EVER know they are hot.

Then there are people who think they are hot. For guys, these people are usually big loudmouths, for girls, they are usually popular. Now, a lot of them are butt ugly and are complete dip shits, but there tends to be a better chance of them being hot then people who have less of an opinion on themselves.

Then you get the people with low self esteem. They [the hot ones, that is, but most are ugly] are hot but would not know it at all. They are not just ignorant to the people gawking over them but actually feel really bad about their own appearance. They sometimes have disorders such as bulimia nervosa and anorexia.

I do this because, while 10, 20, hell, 100 people could tell me in a day that I'm beautiful, just one comment, one comment made off-the-cuff, or jokingly by any not-so-close friends, or any other way, can shatter all that.

There's a big difference between the words 'hot' and 'beautiful'. imo hot comes with some kind of sexual connotation and beautiful just means that you are fucking good looking. But beautiful is often underestimated i guess..
