both are awesome, ingeniously written and pretty much perfect animes but If you had to choose which one is better, which one would you pick?

I would choose Champloo because nothing compares to the badassity of Mugen

Same director for both, but Bebop easily.

Champloo is soo much better than bebop IMO but meh. to each is own

Cowboy Bebop FTW.

Bebop didn't drag, whereas some parts of Champloo did. The zombie episode comes to mind - I almost fell asleep watching that one.

Spike Spiegel just plain owns.

Champloo... Only because I would rather watch a sword fight than a gunfight... Other than that I like them both equally.

Even though the Animation of Champloo is awesome, and has some great action and fun characters.

Bebop is just...I mean jesus, from the first episode I was like...this Anime is fucking great. Bebop just does everything so well, and that is why I would say it is better :P

For example, more depth to characters IMHO in Bebop as compared to Champloo. Towards the end of Bebop you are addictively interested in what is going to happen next.
