Is "negro" considered a racsist term? I feel like it should be as only people of the baby boom generation or older tend to feel its acceptable. But is it really a bad thing to say, someone I've known for a few years (50 years old maybe) called a half-black guy "half-negro". I wasn't sure how the word is perceived in the black community and was wondering what everyone here thought.

Say it all you want, and if someone calls you out on it say "pardon my spanish"

I dunno, but what I do know is that I really like the term Porch Monkey, which I heard in Clerks2, and don't think that should be considered racist.

It's not necessarily as racist as "nigger", but it's extremely archaic. You'll get weird looks, and it'll be uncomfortable. It's sort of like calling an Asian person a "mongoloid".

I think it depends on context too. Personally, I think that it's not racist, unless you're intending it to be. I also think it's way too old to be used today. You're probably better off saying someone is "half-black."
