Women: sassy when they're young = nagging frigid bitches when they're older?
How do I avoid women who will turn into monsters as they age? I usually go for nice ladylike girls who are on the submissive side and aren't stubborn. I am following the correct path, yes?
Sassy, opinionated women who want "equal relationships" scare me.

Maybe.
Women sometimes go through this mid-life crisis, but instead of buying something expensive and stupid like their male mates do, they decide to have a personality makeover.
My Mom did this a year ago. It is craziness.

Re: Women: sassy when they're young = nagging frigid bitches when they're older?
Sassy and opinionated on the outside doesn´t mean the same in a relationship. Anyone who knows me says I have the biggest gob of anyone they´ve ever met, and I make my opinions heard, whether people want to hear them or not. I´m pretty ´sassy´ and always treated like one of the guys. But in a relationship I always follow a man´s lead, I´m quiet submissive and I don´t believe in equality in everything. (Mother should still stay with her kids, husband should still work. In my opinion. :)).
Although I do nag even now. ;)
Some women put on a front. Stops them looking vunerable. It´s just another of those walls people can put up to stop themselves getting hurt.

*shakes raging feminist fist at you all*
What is WRONG with having an opinion? Just because someone has a vagina, how does that make their opinion any less valid then a males?
How come it's wrong for a man to stay at home with the children while the mother works? In todays society, if the women is earning more then the man (oh no, god forbid!) then isn't it sensible for HIM to say home?
By the way, you can still be opinionate and submissive in personality. One of the most extreme feminists I know is the most quiet feminine chick ever, and she looks like a fucking barbie! :p

Hah, The women you fall for...will turn into your mother when they get older.
They'll cook for you, and do all the laundry, and you may think this is a great thing, till you realise one day you're wearing nice striped jumpers and turn up trousers.
So basically, you want a girl to agree with you whatever you say?
Wow, that sounds boring. Perhaps what you really want is a chobit, not a real live human with feelings and oppinions.
Failing that, a fleshlight.I hear they're pretty obediant.

No, but someone has to look after them? You were implying that it would be awesome to stay at home and do fuck all, rather then work. Firstly, looking after children isn't exactly easy, and secondly some people enjoy their jobs.
And god no, I dont want children for a very long time.

Well of course. I was assuming that women would actually enjoy looking after children more than earning money for the family, working out the budget, planning the future, etc.
Anyway, whatever works for you.

My girlfriend's older sister, who is only a year older than me, is a housewife.
Any time Im in her house during the day, she doesnt have time to breathe. Cooking, cleaning, looking after two young children and more.
At least you get breaks while at work.

Re: Women: sassy when they're young = nagging frigid bitches when they're older?
Kate, in my family, my mother works and my father stays at home. From a child´s perspective, this makes both her children unhappy. When our mum worked outside the home, me and my brother would frequently phone her and come by her office and occaisonally call in saying one of us was sick so she´d have to rush home. A child´s bond with its mother is alot stronger than with it´s father, and she should be home with her kids.
When she works from home we feel alot better, and I can tell my brother is alot happier. Now, as a woman myself, I work. I do. I work my ass off to be able to afford to live a semi decent life, and even when I´m living with my husband I tend to work atleast part time. But I just genuinly think that when you have kids, the mother is the one who should be with them. I don´t mean for the whole 18 years, because god knows at 15, 16, they don´t need you there from morning to night. And I know that I´m such a fidgity person that I could never stay at home alone whilst they´re at school, so would obviously get atleast a part time job, but for those hours that they´re at home, I believe so should a mother be.
Plus men in general earn more money than woman, even when it´s for the same job. I´m not saying its fair, but its true, so overall, I think he should be the provider, and she should be the nurturer. There are cases when this might not be true, but I think in general, it just works out better.

What about mothers who are not 'Mother Material'? Lots of animals are not mother types & they don't care for their kids. Or is that just a zoo thing?
What if the father is not only willing to stay home but is a better parent?

Of course, every family is unique, and it's problems should be dealt with according to the circumstances. We're talking about average families here.

I'd say you're on the right path. I also agree with the more traditional roles for men and women, I think the man should provide for his family, and the woman should make that possible by taking care of their home/children. And as long as the girl is okay with it, I see no problem with being submissive to your husband. I personally enjoy being submissive to my boyfriend. It just feels 'right'.
So as long as you and your future girlie are happy, rabbit, that's all that matters. :)

And this is why some of the other girls in this thread are complaining about traditional roles. Seriously, someone that is hot and can compromise with her man on family roles gives you no chance in the dating pool. From what Sick_Boy just said (I'd guess from all the chick flicks I've had to sit through) is the equivalent of a guy who is:
-an undercover rich guy
-adventurous
-best friend while boyfriend
-good listener
-expressive
-funny
-finds beauty through acts and the mind, not appearances
-heroic
-chivalrous
... that girls want. Ladies, as long as there are Sick_Boys out there, you have no chance with the "No, I do or say what I want whenever I want attitude." Unless you find a mister that likes to be the sub in a dom & sub relationship. Probably not going to happen in a world where wars are faught with things that fly through the air that look like phalluses and FUBAR anything on impact.

Because it goes against something I feel in my very marrow. If other couples want to do it, fine, but it's not for me.
My goals in life will only make me lower middle class anyway, it's entirely likely I'll end up with a girl that makes more money than me.

My mother was an alcoholic prostitute, I doubt that kinda girl will turn into her. Though she did do my laundry alot, she never cooked that much.
I think wearing a striped jumper and a turn up trousers and having lovely caring wife that does nice stuff to me who I in turn provide for and protect is a pretty nice fate, all in all:)
So basically, you want a girl to agree with you whatever you say?

Not at all. But I think there are times in every relationship when women act completely out of line, and need to be told what to do. I don't plan on treating a woman like a slave or a servant, it's just on those few occasions where her over estrogened mind is making poor decisions that I need to be able to set her on the right track with minimal fuss from her, ie to be listened to and obeyed.
An opionated sassy bitch would be all "don't tell me what to do you aren't the boss of me!" then go on to wreak havoc.

A opinion is good and all, as long as it has logical, comprehensible reasoning behind it. Judging from posts on totse in general, both sexes seem to have a inability at this.
(Only replying because of the "You all" bit. Rather male like of you to gloss over everyone just because they had different genitalia than you.)

Re: Women: sassy when they're young = nagging frigid bitches when they're older?
Man, it would drive me nuts if my husband (future tense, of course :) ) expected me to sit at home, cooking and cleaning and being a baby machine. I'm not spending the next 6 years of my life going to school to get a degree just to hang it on my wall next to some little brats stick figure finger painting. I know that's some peoples dream, but it's definitely not mine.
I've got nothing against housewives, except when they start ranting about how hard it is. Yeah, it's hard. My mom did it and worked her entire life, and she's a neat freak AND an amazing cook, probably a better housewife than most "housewives."
The way I picture my life, my husband and I will both be working, no kids, big house with dogs and a few horses, and maybe a goat. I'll do the typical wife stuff too, but noone better expect me to give up my dreams. Sitting at home day after day, cooking and cleaning and shopping and knitting and fuck knows what else... NOT my cup of tea.

That is a pretty not-so-bright thing to say considering history has consistently been written by men. Mainstream religions are ran by men. The world powers are ran by men. But who the fuck cares what those thing influence. Their written and ran by guys, so we don't give a fuck. If only they had vaginas so we could possibly put up with their bullshit.
In this world guys are listened to more than women. I'm a guy, I'm not a feminist, but I am realistic.

Re: Women: sassy when they're young = nagging frigid bitches when they're older?
Your've obviously never looked after a child/children.
That, and your've never worked a job your've actually liked.
Ironically, cooking at home, and spending time with children, *are* two jobs I actually like...
...'n while we're on a rant about personal preferences...
1. I don't sub.
2. I prefer partners that don't sub. At all.
Some people like "uppity females" - and it's not a d/s either-or situation, either. There's no rule that says that anyone *has* to control anyone, and while if your response had've been "that's my personal kink," I would've probably said "rock on" - I'd honestly suggest that anyone who cannot concieve of the possibility of non-d/s relations even existing is probably a little fucked in the head, really.
No... it's not an either/or, the entire paradigm is one option... and as someone who is entirely outside your single-mold model of the existance of 6 1/2 billion humans, I'm pretty confident that there's probably someone for everybody.
It's a big world.
Now... to the OP : I suggest prostitution. You'll get everything you asked for - the customer's always right, after all - and not have to worry about the day that your "submissive" asian wife stabs you in the neck in your sleep to ensure that you don't stand between your child and his/her future on some issue.
...gotta watch out for those "sumbissive" asian wives. Prostitutes are *definately* the way to go, for you. They'll fetch you beer, they'll give you head on command, and they'll agree with all your political insights - whatever gets them the paycheck.
Serious. Think about it.

It's just a way I prefer women to act. You don't have to state your opinion about everything all the time...I find the women that do this have really low intellects though, but still.
Here's what it's nice to have a civlised debate about
-Music
-Politics
-The Environment
Here's what women should STFU about
-The position of the toilet seat
-My friends
-What I do with my money

Oh man... tell me about it. I never hear the end of it. None of my girlfriends have ever gotten the point that I've known my friends way before I've met any of them. I'll probably still be friends with them long after I've broken up with my girlfriend at the time. I don't understand why girlfriends cant understand that I'm not fucking up a life long friendship over some petty bitching.

Re: Women: sassy when they're young = nagging frigid bitches when they're older?
I think that it is in the best interests of the child for the mother to be at home 24/7. It is probably in the best interests of the child to have the Father home 24/7 aswell, but if you had to pick only one (and someone has to work after all) the mother should be with the kids.
Having children is a sacrifice. Nothing pisses me off more than people who have children but wont sacrifice anything in their own lives for the good of their kids. If you weren't prepared to make any sacrifices don't have children!
People like Kate_, i usually like your type, and admire your independence. However i hope that if a time should come when you do have children you will realise that what you think or feel comes second to the welfare of the child, even if it means coming down off that high horse and being a stay at home mother.

Re: Women: sassy when they're young = nagging frigid bitches when they're older?
How come it's wrong for a man to stay at home with the children while the mother works? In todays society, if the women is earning more then the man (oh no, god forbid!) then isn't it sensible for HIM to say home?
Because thats not what God intended.

Srsly, most of the opinionated girls I know have to throw a fit if you disagree with them. They can't just agree to disagree.
I can't stand girls (or people in general) like that. They need to grow up.

It is my honest belief that bitchy women who want "equal relationships" don't really want that at all. They want control of the relationship.

By the way, you can still be opinionate and submissive in personality. One of the most extreme feminists I know is the most quiet feminine chick ever, and she looks like a fucking barbie! :p

LOL im sorry to tell u kate dear, but this ussualy isnt the case, and well bieng a male it would just feel very well demeaning,i mean playing the mother role is a very feminine act to try to maintain and just somethin in us ebbs at our pride for doin so,plus men ussualy are more competetive especially so in the buisness world so it makes sense that men should be the provider, also woman are more caring and compassionate,so why mess with a good thing, also there isnt a deadline for a woman taking care of a house, for children yes,but i mean consider this
the dishes dont get washed??whats the worst what can happen u have to wait an extra 20min for them to get washed,i dont think youll get evicted from your apartment for this....
also rabitweed as for what you should do,i think personally keep goin along the route you've seem to have choosen
now its not exactly the path i follow,i like to have girls that have a lil flare to them[or so they think]and play mind games with them and turn them into emotional messes that need me,and then shower them in affection, perfect way to do things,it satisfys my male ego and it helps thier emotions,i see myself as a surgeon sorta,a surgeon of love!Lawl
anyways you should go for ditzy girls who arent opinionated too much, i mean there ditz's whats the most they can do?

Re: Women: sassy when they're young = nagging frigid bitches when they're older?
Why does a relationship have to be controlled? Shouldn't these things be natural? Isn't marriage a PARTNERSHIP?
I've been happily married to my best friend for almost 10 years now. We share everything. We depend on each other.
We work together to make life better for each other. Any other goals in a relationship, any agendas about control, any forecasted bitchiness, male/female traditional roles... all that shit does is get in the way.
Find the right person - sometimes you have to stop looking so hard. Love and a very happy marriage fell into my lap.
I suppose that isn't what you're looking for. Just someone who will shut up and let you fuck her and then go make you a sandwich, huh? That should work out well. Toss her out of YOUR house that she cleaned when she turns bitchy. If she gets tired of washing your underwear, cram them down her throat.
Women are human beings, and perfectly capable of making rational decisions. Hormones only account for so much. Males and females of the species Homosapien are both capable of making stupid decisions. Women don't turn into bitches unless you treat them like one. If they ALWAYS turn bitchy, there's something wrong with YOU. I don't think you'll find anything truly gratifying until you get over yourself first.
When the student is ready, the master shall appear.

I thought this when I was young too...And then I got married and we had a baby and I just wanted to be with her every minute of the day. I never would've believed it of myself, to be honest...I was on the "fast track" to success. I graduated high school when I was 14 and I had almost 3 years of college under my belt when I dropped out of school at 16. (I had been taking college courses while still in high school.) The plan was that I would finish med school by the time I was 20 and then go on to become a world famous doctor.:P My parents are EXTREMELY disappointed in me, BTW.:P
My point is that you never know what you really want, because life changes all of the time. I never planned to be a housewife...It just worked out that way and I think I'm happier in THIS life than I would've been as a doctor. I don't make plans for the future anymore because they always change...And anyway, it's better to just go where life takes you.

Re: Women: sassy when they're young = nagging frigid bitches when they're older?
True story: I met this chick through a mutual friend who thought we'd be a good match, and had just a phone relationship for about 2- 3 weeks. I finally met the girl when she needed a ride to a doctor appointment and my schedule was free that day. So basically this wasn't even a date, more like just doing a favor for a friend. I pick her up at her apartment, and about 2 blocks down the road she says to me...."ya know, you REALLY need to clean this car". Now I'm sure for about 90% of male Totseans they would have dropped her off right there and told her to GTFO. Me, I grinned ear to ear and respected her no bullshit bluntness telling me how it was. I ended up marrying that gal! : )
Call me crazy, but I like having a challenge in all aspects of my life and don't want some easy hum drum existence. Its like if you really enjoy playing chess, are you going to enjoy the game more if you are playing someone your equal or better? Or would you rather sit across from a 9 year old, KNOWING that you'll win each and every time? The whole point is, if I picked some subserviant twit to be my life mate....things would get very old very quick. It would almost be more like having a puppy....just following me along and agreeing with what I say and do.
You also have to understand, that having someone occasionally question or challenge your thoughts actually ENHANCES your life. Lets say we have a differeing opinion about topic "x". After discussing/debating certain differing viewpoints, any number of things can happen. Perhaps my original stance was further proven right, and has standed the test of criticism, now giving it more weight. Or maybe it has been altered slightly, which after hearing a different person's viewpoints has given me a better and more informed opinion about this topic. Or even it changed totally, and now I think completely different realizing my original thought process was my own personal bias. More than anything though, that is PERSONAL GROWTH.....something that life is all about. Granted you can go through your whole life having the same mindsets and idealogies that you did at 20 still at age 60....but from where I'm sitting that hasn't been much of a life you have led being THAT close minded.
Also, there are absolutely COUNTLESS benefits to having a differing or separate opinion as you go about life. Maybe its selecting a new job, buying a car, painting your bedroom, just choosing dinner.....someone giving you different input is only going to make your selection process that much more efficient. Now if you just had a "yes dear" girl at your side, you would have your opinion and yours alone if you were calling all the shots........and after you bought that 150K house you might realize after the fact there isn't enough closet space. Silly example I know, but again if you have someone mute/passive at your side....chances are they will not give you their two cents and just let you call all the shots.
And finally, from just a sex appeal aspect I find assertive chicks hot as hell! Give me Sarah Connor from "Terminator" any day over Scarlett O'hara in "Gone With The Wind."

I do like opinionated girls.. except when they're really stupid.
A girl that can argue history/politics/comics effectively with me is one I'm looking out for. My friend's ex, who I'm friends with believes that buying brand name clothes make you a better person. This is the type of opinion that drives me nuts.

No dear, I had a nervous breakdown and dropped out of college. THEN I got married and THEN three years later I got "knocked up."
Me leaving school was totally unrelated to me getting married/having kids.

In that case, I amend my statement to read "Wow, that's fucking depressing. You chose the life of a housewife over an extremely promising medical career, in which you could have helped countless people but instead sit at home looking after kids and talking to people on the internet."

In her case, is it? Okay, as a housewife, she brings a couple of people into the world. As a brilliant, or even average doctor, she saves countless people from checking out way too early, and could also have had those couple of kids AFTER getting through med school and getting into a solid gig.
Then again, I'm a guy, I don't understand how women can go batshit insane over a child.

*sigh*
I will try to explain in a different way:
I NEVER WANTED TO BE A DOCTOR! THAT WAS MY PARENTS' PLAN AND NOT MINE!
I really didn't know WHAT I wanted to do until I met my husband and then I knew I wanted to be with him./shrug I still help people...I mean I volunteer at the VA hospital and I used to volunteer at planned parenthood. Just because you CAN do something...It doesn't mean you WANT to do it or even SHOULD do it. We only get one life and I don't want to waste mine living my parents dream and being unhappy.
