So, I met this great girl about a month ago. We've been talking on the phone and have gotten really close. The problem is though that she lives about an hour away. I talk to her on the phone every night but, we've only met in person 3 times. I really love this girl, we have so much in common, but the long distance is killing me, not being able to see her everyday. I just feel somewhat like I'm wasting my time talking to her and getting so little sexual/physical attention out of it. Anything suggestions/stories/comments would be great.

An hour is nothing, really. I had a girlfriend who lived just over an hour away and we could see each other three or four times a week with no problems at all, I didn't consider it a long-distance relationship.

People make long-distance work when their partner is on the other side of the country, or across an ocean. If you love her, an hour shouldn't be a problem in the slightest.

EDIT: The best way to manage it is to realise that public transport is your best friend, and to have both of you make a good impression on the other's parents so they'll be more inclined to take you places if needs be. Staying over a couple of nights is a good way to get more time together with less travelling, too. Oh, and it's easier to meet somewhere in between if you're just seeing each other for a little while, share the burden of travelling. It's not tricky, really. Good luck with it all.

One of my longest relationship was with a girl who lived at least 45 minutes away... that lasted about a year and I didn't even have a car. An extra few minutes for you isn't much further. It's doable.
It also helps if you have a friend who likes to drive, and then you can try to hook him up with a friend of your girl.

It's gonna be tough. But it might work out.

HOw old are you? 15? That's the only problem I see with this not being able to see her.

1 hour is not long distance, my gf is 3h30min away and i am looking forward to her moving to uni so she will only be an hour away from me!!

It will ensure you can be friends before lovers, it will do you both good.

It works. I went out with a chick who lived an hour away when I was 15. Find the fastest/cheapest/easiest way out there and see her as much as you can. And as others have said, make friends with the parents, or at least one of them. Staying for a couple of nights means you can go, stay, spend the day, stay again then go home.

And if something bad happens, you can still see her. You jut have to be a little crazy and trust yourself.

Believe me on that last one, it's true. It may even teach you things about yourself you didn't know aswell. Show you how far you're willing to go for someone. If you don't think the effort's worth it, then you probably shouldn't be in the relationship anyway.

An hour isn't much, I've done to a different island (5 hour drive, and 3 hour ferry). And another was a 9 hour drive.


They fucking suck.


But, only an hour away? I think you could make it work :)
