fluctuations in libido
recently i've been having a hard time becoming aroused, although i am very much attracted to the girl i am with. i noticed this happening after starting to use condoms again, but i think there is something up with my libido in general. the thing is, this has happened before ( though most of the time i'm horny as hell and itching to get off). so my question is, does anyone else get this? i'm asking the male population of the board. also, any way to speed up/control the change? i would like to get back in the groove (my gf wants this too, obviously) no idiot responses, please.

Re: fluctuations in libido
""People still believe that fantasies are compensation for lack of sexual opportunity," says Leitenberg. "That if your sex life was adequate, you wouldn't have to fantasize."
But the data show that, if anything, frequent fantasizers are having more than their share of fun in bed. They have sex more often, engage in a wider variety of erotic activities, have more partners, and masturbate more often than infrequent fantasizers, Leitenberg and Henning report in Psychological Bulletin."

Fantasize more. =)

Yeah it happens. No way to change it as far as I've found, but it never seems to last long for me so meh. But you're not alone. Hell at least you've got it sometimes.

Re: fluctuations in libido
There are any number of things that could cause that. Stress, seasonal fluctuations, medication, drugs, diet, the list just goes on.

Re: fluctuations in libido
thanks. good to know i'm not alone. i have been drinking heavily for several months, and i was looking up whether or not there is a connection between abuse and a drop in libido. apparently, there is such a thing as alcohol impotence. the alcohol damages the endocrine system, which is responsible for the hormonal levels. the articles i read even said it could be permanent(!) i was talking about it with my roomate, and this seems like the thing they should be teaching in high school sex ed/health classes. i mean, i wouldn't have been so ready to binge in college if i knew it meant i could lose my virility. shit.
