I never payed much attention to the rumor mill. I know that at least half the stuff was started to specifically get at someone, and the other half has passed through so many hands that no one can tell the original anymore.

Here's an example from back in high school. One of the most popular guys in my grade, Con-man as we called him, had a certain reputation when it came to women and drugs.

Well, the drugs thing wasn't wholly unjustified. A good portion of the weed in that school got there by way of his family. Despite certain assumptions, he himself didn't deal. Usually willing to share though.

As for women, well again, he'd been out with a lot of girls, so everyone had a perception, and there were all sorts of rumors. This lasted up until the day he actually lost his virginity (to his girlfriend of over a year). Naturally, everyone knew about it instantly, you you would have been shocked to see how many random people came up to congratulate him.

Alot of books with odd titles (such as this one) are good reads. Plus, you learn a thing or two from such odd books, which could help in some weird awkward way.

I'd recommend both, the first just shoots out from the beginning making all sorts of little bursts of claims, but it makes her writing so choppy that it gets pretty tiring to read, because it stays like that the whole time. If you can get past this, or just read it in small doses, there are some interesting ideas to be found.

The second I'd say is the more interesting of the two.
The top amazon reviewer there sums is up pretty briefly, perhaps a bit too briefly, but it will have to do.
