Re: anni
ok so basiclly the same method as the other way. soak E in solvent like HEET for 6 hours and evap. the powder thats left is the freebase of E right ?? my recipe tells me that it needs to be a freebase. and to distill it to get purity.

Re: anni
No one has to make it the freebase . A\B is acid base

Re: anni
just extract it and then good to go - don't need to have it in freebase form.... salt will work just fine.
approx/roughly 7 grams of pse (or Ephed) for each strip of Li from a AA battery... that's the most common source of the Li to be used.

Re: anni
swim would strongly suggest finding an online vendor that sells Sodium Metal.
Sodium metal is needed for an actual Birch, the lithium method is not a birch, just called that for simplicities sake.
Bad thing about lithium is that it can and often does OVER-reduce the pseudoephedrine. However sodium metal does not over-reduce, and is very much desirable.
Plus it comes already covered in oil, all one has to do is take the sodium metal from the oil and throw it in the Anni.
Swim always wanted to try the birch but never had Anni.
However he was thinking of making some, apparently its just adding ammonium sulfate to dry naoh crystals. Putting the vapor through a condenser, and then those fumes are put through a drying agent, and finally into a jar emmersed in dry-ice/acetone.
Sounds easy, any experience? can this be done in a few hours in the woods?

Yes indeed - technically it is the case that the actual Birch reduction was done with sodium, but in the cold light of day most of the backwoods birchers are using the Li strips liberated from batteries.
But if one were to have some proper sodium, then all the better.
As to brewing up own supply of Anni - saw a dream once where this was the case and yes, that is basically the process. In the old Totse archives (which am not sure if are still accessible) there was a thread by Krackleback that covered the process....
am hoping we can do something with the old Archives in this new forum format, but as yet, unsure about that.

wey hey - turns out although not listed, the old archives are still 'out there', so here's the thread mentioned previously.
