What the hell's the point of love? All it ever does is bring pain in the end
Don't you agree? It pisses me the fuck off. I'm in love with my ex-girlfriend, she's the love of my life, my soulmate, and yet we're not together. She's with some dropkick guy who doesn't know a thing about her. She calls me and tells me how she misses me and misses having someone that understands her, misses me sleeping beside her, how she still loves me more than anything and how she thinks us breaking up was a big mistake. She tells me that she's stuck in a relationship with this drop kick and doesn't know how to get out of it, but she's not prepared to cheat on him with me because she doesn't want to cheat, ever.
Why the hell won't she leave him? I talk to her today, she's going to a festival over easter weekend with a bunch of friends and him. I ask her why? (I thought you were going to leave him, that you were stuck etc) She says she has to talk to me about it later, because she was starting work soon.
Fucking hell I hate love, I still know in the back of my mind I'll get her back, in time. But what the fuck is the point of it? I'll just get hurt again in the long run. Tips for all you younger people out there. Never fall in love, never open yourself up to anyone, you'll just get hurt in the long run, even for a fucking trivial reason that should be easy to fix and yet it somehow isn't. Fuck the world.

Re: What the hell's the point of love? All it ever does is bring pain in the end
We have to suffer many heartbreaks in order to find our one true love I guess. Relationships give us an idea of what kind of person we are exactly looking for.
Stop saying love just causes pain because that is nonsense. Hypocrisy, cheating, backstabbing and fights are what really cause suffering.
Do you rather be total loner the rest of your non-romantic life?

Re: What the hell's the point of love? All it ever does is bring pain in the end
Obviously wasn't meant to be.
If she loves you as much as she says she does, she wouldn't hesitate to fuck this dude off for you OR cheat on the douche bag. True love knows no boundaries.
If I were in love with someone but with someone else whom I didn't like, I'd cheat without even thinking twice about it or just do it the easy way and tell them bye bye.
She's mugging you off mate.

Re: What the hell's the point of love? All it ever does is bring pain in the end
Yeah, probably. But she is moving to another city and state in a week. And I would rather her not cheat, I don't want a chick who is likely to cheat. Also this guy is some psycho who who will apparently hurt her and me if she were to leave him and come back to me. He's apparently some kickboxer fuckwit. Me, not having any fighting experience would not be able to take him on, I would need the help of my mates, which would look bad infront of said girl.
EDIT: Well shootingstar you can catch me on madcow 52 [at] hotmail [dot] com (nospaces or underscores)
On a side note, I have this girl who is slightly stalkerish in her actions wanting to constantly meet up. Now she is not the most attractive person, but should I just fuck her for the rebound?? Or would that just strengthen her stalker tendencies?

Re: What the hell's the point of love? All it ever does is bring pain in the end
Love is just one of those emotions that remind you constantly that you are alive. Without it, you would just wander round in a kind of semi-daze.
Have you ever seen someone suffering from depression starting out on a new, higher dosage? They are without feeling for a few days - all their emotions are evened out into a kind of nothing state. It is not nice to watch....
Sometimes love is the best feeling in the world. Sometimes it can feel like you are ripping out your insides with a rusty spoon.
These intesnse feeling let you enjoy some simple pleasures in life.... you have to feel the pain to appreciate the pleasure, dude!
But yeah, it sux when love goes bad. Hopefully you can learn from it, and be a better person.

Re: What the hell's the point of love? All it ever does is bring pain in the end
I think people specially young people tend to mistake passion or simple affection with true love. This happened to me with my first girlfriend.
I thought I loved her very much and I felt that I wasn't gonna be complete ever again without her. However, it is just a matter of time you need to realize true love is a really rare thing.
I think that after a breakup we just miss being with someone that cares about us and feels happy to be with our company.
That is not love that is just an emotional need we all have and we think about our previous partner because that was our last chapter in our romantic life.
My point about all this would be that if you break up for any reason no matter what it means something was simply not right and that means love is just not joining you together.

Re: What the hell's the point of love? All it ever does is bring pain in the end
You see OP, that was not Real love, real love does not die nor does it bring you pain, It is the greatest feeling you will ever experience.
You will never experience True love if you take back a girl that Threw away all she had with you for someone else.
I wish you good luck on your quest for love. Try not to stray off course with nothing girls.

Re: What the hell's the point of love? All it ever does is bring pain in the end
Well, in no way has our love died, but it certainly has brought pain. All love will, a loving relationship cannot and will not work without pain, you need to take the good with the bad. And also, she didn't throw me away for another guy, she left, then a month and a bit later the guy came along. She is most certainly not a nothing girl.

Better than nothing. 'Safety in numbers', logic, etc.
If she was attracted to you be fighting skill/etc, it'd be different. Even if it was that, the reasons may have changed, so it may not be much of a problem.
And if she knows what he is willing to do, she may understand....
and some say 'love is the way nature tricks people into reproducing'

She has quite obviously moved on dude - I think it's time for you to too...
And love does have it's ups and downs, but it should be mostly ups in a healthy relationship....

Re: What the hell's the point of love? All it ever does is bring pain in the end
This thread makes me feel like killing myself. I'm going to go jump off a bridge.
-But seriously.
You don't want to be one of those bitchy, pussy goth kids, do you? It's not about getting crushed in the end, it's about the experience. Love is a great, great thing. You shouldn't let yourself get discouraged because some skirt crushed your heart. You should mourn, get over it, and find someone else. Some day you'll find someone you can die next to.
Or not, what do I know....
Oh yeah- there's a compartment in the hat. So the rabbit was actually in the hat the whole time.

Yeah you'll get hurt in the long run. It's the journey that matters.
Look if you keep trying to avoid the inevitable your whole life you'll have no fun.
"Boo hoo, I'll just get hurt again" - So what? Is that a reason to quit give up on romance?
You're going to die one day, is that a reason to give up on life?
She's fucking with your head. Ditch the bitch.

Re: What the hell's the point of love? All it ever does is bring pain in the end
I know exactly how you feel. I was in a similar situation. I fell in love with this girl at work. She pushed me aside for a 23-year old loser and now she's regretting it. She actually had the nerve to call me and tell me that she misses me. I told her that I never want to hear from her again or see her again and I want her to stay out of my life. I still love the girl but I don't want anything to do with her anymore. She did nothing but take me granted. Do yourself a favor and move on. Girls like her are the worst breed around. They say one thing but do another and they manipulate situations to get their way and when they don't get their way anymore, they become sad and upset. Believe me, it is deeply satisfying to see them suffer for what they did.

Yeah, fuck this shit.
A tip for all the younger people: just kill yourself now, don't meet new people, don't learn, don't change yourself.
Just, fuck it.

But wallowing in self pity and complaining and then basing the standard of reality on your personal subjective experience is so much better than actually DOING something and taking RESPONSIBILITY for your life.
