My dog has chronic colitis and the vet recently told me that she either has to eat prescription dog food ($3 per CAN) or easy to digest human food. Now I've been feeding her a lot of oatmeal, rice and beans, but I'm worried that she needs more variety in her diet. Any ideas on easy to digest food for dogs?

Hot dogs mushed to a fine paste?

I'd have thought that the high salt content of human foods would be bad for a dog, but meh..

Maybe you could do alternate days, so one day she has the expensive dog food, and the next something tasty you cooked up for her?

Well...I make everything she eats from scratch and I don't add salt to it. Stuff like hot dogs would be bad for her, because it's tough to digest. My poor dog has been so sick.

Maybe you should feed her some easy to digest meat. Dogs are meant to eat meat.

Some anal sex could also cheer the dog up.

Oh honey, could you do me a favor...

Mix all your daily leftovers and maybe toss in a cheap can of dog food..Offer it food only once a day at the same time...Never feed your dog beans as it causes gas..A dogs fart is considerable worse than a humans..

Agreed, a dog fart is awful.

Dogs generally like eggs. Lots of dogs like vegetables, but like people, they can be picky about which ones. You should always cook potatoes before feeding them to your dog, and I think you're supposed to cook onions too, but that could just be in regard to rats. You'll have better luck with fruits, as they are a bit softer and sweeter. I have never met a dog who could turn down a frozen grape.
