Self-confidence booster (OR: How to be a little kid)
So ye' say yr self-confident now, do ye'? Welllll then, just how confident are you? Are you only confident in certain clothes, with certain hairstyles, etc? Do you look good sometimes, but not all the time?
People who radiate confidence are attractive, but how can you truly be confident of everything? You're too fat, too skinny, too wrinkly, too flat, not enough muscle, you slouch too much, etc. We all have our "flaws".
But do you acknowledge them as such? Because if you do, you're falling prey to it. If you can truly believe with 100% of your heart that there is nothing wrong with you, then it will be true. You can't do this with the mindset that you're better than anyone else though. They could all be this beautiful, they just need to smile more!
If you think other people have flaws, then you acknowledge that humans can have flaws, thus keeping yourself open to this. But if you act as innocent as a little kid and recognize that the physical, material world is full of flaws, and that the world of the spirit is beautiful and flawless, then you will be in pure bliss.
Nothing can harm you, no one can touch you, it doesn't matter if so-and-so cares if you look good because you know that they go to home and cry themselves to sleep and starve themselves and use drugs to cover up for their own insecurities. But not you though, you have fun doing ANYTHING, being ANYWHERE, with ANYONE. Because you act in the spirit of absolute innocent confidence!
So put on the weirdest, stupidest looking clothes you can find. Smear makeup horribly all over your body. Stuff pillows in yr shirt. Wear really baggy clothes. Now, go in front of a mirror and realize that there is absolutely nothing wrong with the way that you look. You're fantastic! Beautiful baby, beautiful. Give me a kiss, hun.
Come on, S&A, show me that you're beautiful.

Re: Self-confidence booster (OR: How to be a little kid)
My rational mind agrees with everything you've said, but try telling that to the voice in the back of my head constantly saying "you'll never be good enough."
Ugh, I'm so fucking lame. I'm such a product of our society, I hate it.

Don't worry about it man, just stop for a moment. Think about yourself. Think about the universe. Think about who you are. Think about why you care about this girl. Think about why you care about anything. Relax. Go outside. Go outside and just look at nature. Do it now man, get off the computer and away from technology. Breathe in the cool night air. Tonight you have no worries!

Re: Self-confidence booster (OR: How to be a little kid)
Seriously though. If you can accept other people's flaws, why not your own?
Ever get pissed off, then laugh at yourself for being pissed off? [this has been me a lot lately...]
I'm ridiculous sometimes...absolutely absurd...like a child throwing a tantrum.
There's more than one way to "be a little kid". But...kids do bounce back fast.
btw...isn't there an indian practice of carpet making, or weaving, (or something like that) where a "flaw" is intentionally woven into a carpet?

I think a lot of the negative parts of being a kid are mostly because of todays culture and society. The whole "me me me" has spawned a lot of really selfish kids.
We've forgotten a lot of things since we were five: (http://www.ahealedplanet.net/intro.htm#forgetting) share, play fair, don't hit, put things back where you found them, clean up your mess, don't take things that aren't yours, and apologize when you've done something wrong.

I think it's all being a little kid though. Some children seem to be peacemakers, others warmongers, and all sorts in between.
I think you'd make a good parent though.

That originates from Persia. It is done because only Allah is perfect.

Re: Self-confidence booster (OR: How to be a little kid)
I know for a fact I have good self esteem.
Once I was testing something, had msn live going and logged in with my other accuont in windows messenger.
I saw 'Nereth has logged in' pop up in the corner, and I thought 'Hey, that guy is pretty cool. I might chat to him!'
Took me about 5 seconds to realise he was me.

Want to know another thing like that? Go out in the middle of the night, find something awesome to do... Get with someone, take some crazy drugs, do whatever. Then ride around listening to music. And sing and make stupid voices and quote movies and plays and poetry. You feel like a knob and you feel amazing. Well I do anyway.

Yeah!
The Night! I love her.
When it's night out, there aren't many people out, enforcing their own little realities on you. You can be yourself.
I often find myself in the middle of the night, stoned out of my gourd, listening to techno and dancing/running around town.
I never, EVER feel more cleansed then I do on those nights. All sins are absolved. Everything is forgiven. It is just you and infinite. The cosmos. Luna. God.
my posts in this thread are silly and make me giggle but are true none the less.

Re: Self-confidence booster (OR: How to be a little kid)
I love you guys, too, but as much as my ego doesn't want me to, I'd appreciate it if you guys didn't make posts like that. All it does it make me more arrogant, and that's going to make my posts shittier and make you like me less. No good for anyone.
So please, for everyone's sake, either say, "I like Rizzo for X reasons" so people can see why you like me, and maybe try to emulate those qualities or get something out of it, or say that you like everyone. Raising one person to be great makes everyone else seem small by comparison.
I mean, SomeLowLife, you say you don't know why you respect me. How can that be?

Re: Self-confidence booster (OR: How to be a little kid)
This does work unless youll have the thought: Im forcing my good mood because there are imperfections in me, Im just trying to ignore them and ignorance is not only bliss, its also ignorance. Whats better? Be happy or honest with oneself? Of course, it might not be honesty, it might be some self hate oriented mind fuck.
Anyways, Ill try to follow that advice, I find just forgetting who I am gives alot of confidence...
Now this is a story all about, uh, no, not belair, true story.
I was at a party, drinking, playing, relaxing bein all cool when (Ok, no more belair shit, but thats really how I felt) I saw myself in a mirror. And yeah :(, total bummer dudes, it almost killed me for the rest of the party, managed to somehow erase it from my mind with more drinking, but the taint is still there.

Re: Self-confidence booster (OR: How to be a little kid)
I think you guys all have it backwards! Physical, emotional, and spiritual confidence is a prelude to security in your physique, feelings, and execution of your dreams.
You don't run around naked if you're not already confident in your body; you don't fall in love if you're not already confident in your heart; and you don't live life to the fullest if you're not confident in soul.
...and confidence arises once you've come to understand that you are not a product of your mistakes and successes...you aren't a product of anything. You are ALWAYS a ball of clay that can be molded in any which way, capable of change to meet any circumstance and persevere. Niftiest part about it all is that YOU get to mold the clay...not your parents, your spouse, your beau or girl, your family, your teachers, your government, your work (and if you believe in Tao, God, etc, even they leave you alone to mold yourself!)...NOTHING can touch your motherfucking infinite lump of clay except for YOU.
Oh my god! Optimism is making a come-back...and it's thanks to rizzo's drugged up ass. This is certainly a day that will live through history in infamy.
By the way, Mr. In a Box, what are you on? By the attitude, I'm guessing either MDMA or the afterglow of a heavy duty hallucinogen, maybe DMT or salvia?

I'm pretty sure I just got really high(weed) and took a shower.
I have a lot of thoughts like these whenever I'm left to my devices. :p
optimism IS making a come back but I don't think it's because of me. either way though, it's good. :)

Hehe, cool. I'm told I'm a trip all the friggin' time. It's been almost a year since I've taken any hallucinogens, and I only smoke weed a couple times a month now. Apparently, creative thinking is not the norm.
