How do you find the time for a serious relationship?
This question is for the 18+ crowd. How do you find the time? I'm 20, in university, in a fraternity, have a job, and get swamped with schoolwork on a regular basis. I literally have no time to devote to a relationship right now. Last June I ended a 3 year relationship with a wonderful girl that I'm still friends with (shes a totse member too, ShootingStar), it just didn't work out. So anyway how do you all come up with the time? I know not everyone has my schedule, but I'm assuming you're out of high school at least, meaning you most likely have a lot more going on in your life, and a lot less time to dick around doing nothing.

Re: How do you find the time for a serious relationship?
Good question. The truth is very few people have the time or money for a serious relationship (just like very, very few people can really afford to have kids).
But we all do.
Somehow you find time if she's important to you. You stop wasting time 'hanging wid da homies in da hoodz' , you only play D&D one night a week, you stop posting on totse etc etc

Yep, I've seen it first hand plenty of times. I always say I'm going to avoid the whole situation and wait until I'm at least financially successful before doing the wife and kid deal, but as many have and will say: It happens to the best of us.

I actually lol'ed at that and woke up my roommate, who then bitched at me. Thanks Jack

Re: How do you find the time for a serious relationship?
You make the time.
If you're wanting a proper relationship, if you're at that stage in life, you'll make the time, make the sacrifices.
From the sound of it, where you said you ended a relationship with a wonderfull girl, this would imply you're not ready for a proper relationship.
It doesent matter. Life changes all the time, and in a few years/months/whatever, your priorities may change and you'll find yourself wanting more.

Re: How do you find the time for a serious relationship?
The real question is, how do you find time to date?
When you're in a commited relationship they're usually understanding about how busy you are as long as you put in a good night in a week. If you're dating you need to find time to go on actual dates and put in the time to get to know people or else you don't get any action at all.
Cheers,
Lost

Re: How do you find the time for a serious relationship?
Is she matters to you. You will find the time and give up something to spend time with her. I'm a full time University Student for Electrical Engineering. I also have a part time job, a crazy social life and other things that need my attention but in the end I still make time for my girl cause shes important to me.

Re: How do you find the time for a serious relationship?
D&D > Relationship
Infact: My time > Relationship time
Fuck relationships you have to give up too much to make them work and even then its usualy not enough.

You don't know shit about me or my fraternity so STFU. I'm tired of assholes like you who don't know a damn thing, yet say "ohhhh a frat boi! LOL" We have the highest GPA on campus, do many community service projects, raise funds for needy charities, and on top of that we're a social, not a service fraternity meaning we really aren't required to do most of the work we do. A lot of these guys are very good friends of mine, some of whom I've been through a lot with. Just because you've been to one fraternity house doesn't mean they are all the same.

Re: How do you find the time for a serious relationship?
I'm 25, in University, in a Fraternity, and I'm taking 5 4000 level (senior) courses. I'm in a somewhat serious relationship. It really has been cutting into my productive time to do schoolwork, but then again so has totse... I honestly don't think I would have time for this if she wasn't so busy...she works a lot, is in a sorority and also has classes and shit to deal with.... but I found that if you want to make it work, sometimes you just have to be able to say 'hey, I can't hang out tonight, have to study...' or something. I have a problem doing that, because I like to get laid....but whatever, I also want to graduate.
btw, what Fraternity are you in?

Re: How do you find the time for a serious relationship?
I work nights, sleep all day (2.5 years on nights takes it out of you) and very rarely get weekends off.
My girlfriend is in college, works Wednesdays and Saturdays and has Sundays off.
Our monetary situation has become tighter since we moved into a new flat.
It's tough...But you get by.
Sometimes you have to sacrifice friends and personal interests to spend quality time with your other half but if you love them enough it's worth it.
And if they love you enough they'll understand.
