What you call nice is actually pathetic and clingy. How they became synonomous is beyond me

People give advise all the time, but the advise you listen to and dont should depend on your crowd, the sort of girls you are around.

If you're in a big croud, with plenty of competition, you need to be a little cocky, a bit of an asshole, to attract attention to yourself.

People say that you should be yourself... this only works sometimes. Here's what I used to do.

So you're hanging around in a crowd, or in the pub or something. You go into funny asshole mode. You're kinda loud, joke and poke fun at people, the whole time trying not to come across as obnoxious. The quiet guy sitting in the corner laughing at other people's jokes doesnt usually get a whole lot of attention.

So you get a girls attention, talk, and depending on how you seem to relate you can go back to being yourself and get to know the girl a little better or keep in your current mindset and take her home, or go home alone.

But say you get on well and meet up again, then you're yourself. No point in hiding behind your "look at me" facade, because it's this time thats important. See if you click or not.

This could be complete bullshit to you, but after being the quiet guy in the corner for too long I started acting like this and found my social life moving in leaps and bounds.

...and now Im settling down. What a waste :P

That's advice that smart-aleck kids give out. Being an asshole doesn't get you shit, except for extremely insecure women who think you assholery is somehow their fault.
