So, for the past 2 weeks or something, my girlfriend of nearly 6 months has been acting a little strange. Fine I guess, we all go through stuff like that, but last thursday, she tells me she wants some space. Bit of a kick in the teeth I guess.

She tells me she still loves me, but that she's still afraid of commitment, and that she doesn't know what she wants. I figure nothing good can possibly come of pestering her or shouting at her, so I decide to leave it for a few days, and go off drowning my sorrows (Just in time for St. Patricks day!)

Anyway, I went out with her on sunday evening to a friends birthday meal, and she spoke to pretty much everyone but me, and I felt pretty ignored.

I'm just not sure what to do. I still love her, and I don't want to lose her. I was thinking about just cutting contact for about a week or something, which would give her plenty of time to sort things out. What do you guys think? Wise idea, or should I do something else?

*sigh* It's just the not knowing that gets me.

Go sleep with someone else. See how much she likes space then. Chances are, it'll backfire and it'll be over completely. But when it gets to this point, its pretty much over anyways.

My ex boyfriend did the same thing to me....then we finally went back out for a year after and he pulled the same thing...when they say theyre scared, theyre scared and they might pull it again, like my ex did, so I would think carefully about what you want to do.

MLOR is right. There are very few(if any) times this isn't true. It doesn't necessarily mean she's got someone else as others are saying though it's a possibility. But it's pretty much over, might as well start excepting it. As you seem to already know, alcohol helps.

Maybe you need to stop sitting there and obsessing the damn girl. Girl's don't like that, unless they're the ones who have been man handled all their lives by assholes. This started happening to me and my girlfriend after about 7 or 8 months. I figured it would be over shortly, but here I am 8 months later.

Hang out with her maybe two or three times a week, maybe once more on the weekend.

Unless she wants space so you don't find out about Pablo.
