Default Water saving method

http://tinyurl.com/2sm3rz

please explain my water-saving method in 25 words or less.

the best i could come up with was

Tarp is hung up as a roof and the water dribbles down to a drum. The water is used for gardening. (See picture)

which plain sucks.

so give me your explanation and if i win, i will paypal you some money.

The tarp diverts water, that otherwise goes to stormwater, into the bin below using gravity. The non-potable water has many uses.

21-22 words depending if you count non-potable as one word or two.

* non-potable means it isn't drinking water quality for those that aren't familiar with the term...not filtered.

** If you are good at maths you cold squeeze in the potential water that gets collected. e.g. If your area gets a 3mm rainfall and the tarp is 2m X 2m - Say how much it could collect.

Good luck.

Congradulations, you've created a breeding ground for mosquitos all to save 5 cents worth of water. Have fun with malaria.

Put bleach + windex in the water. No mosquitoes will survive that. Just make sure you can smell it working, very important.

No, but what you can do is have it go into a funnel, and then into a sealed container, less mosquitoes, dogs, cats & birds stealing your water, plus evaporation is severely decreased (elimanated if you use a one way valve on the hose between the funnel and the tank)

This might please some Seinfeld fans, but I try and conserve water in the shower.

When shampooing and washing the body (which take some time, water-wise), I just let the showerhead trickle out. So the only real time you're using water is when rinsing off. This, for me has reduced my showers to about 7-10 minutes

Hope this was helpful.

Take a shower instead of a bath.

To see how great it is, block the drain and then watch the water fill the tub, there's like 5 times less water
